Three boys bravely fought off a boa constrictor trying to eat their pet dog. The dramatic video posted on Chinese social media, Twitter and posted by Sky News, showed the huge snake trying to squeeze the dog to death as the defenseless pup whimpered in pain and fright.

The video focused in on the snake wrapping itself around the dog’s hind legs and back. One of the three boy used a metal pole to pin down the snake’s head while the other two boys hit it repeatedly with sticks. As the snake squeezed the dog tighter and the poor pup whined louder, one of the boys became so desperate to save his pet, he grabbed the snake with his bare hands and tried to uncoil it.

The boys kept turning the dog from side to side to release him, but only managed to get a part of the snake away. They pulled both ends of the snake as the serpent desperately tried to hang onto his prey, but the boys didn’t give up and were eventually able to free the dog.

As the dog escaped, he looked shocked, but otherwise unharmed. It is not known what happened to the boa constrictor.

  1. That is true love of a pet. Those kids risked their lives to save their dog from this snake. Glad the snake didn’t turn on them and hope all are safe now.

  2. If I lived in an area where snakes proliferated like this, as in Florida, II’d have a machete nearby and the snake would be killed quite quickly. My dogs come first. No discussion needed or wanted.

  3. This is what having a dog is all about love and commitment to making sure your animals stay safe and going the extra mile when necessary to get them out of danger. Thank the Good Lord the dog and the boys got away without too much harm done, and hopefully the dog won’t have any residual pain from his experience.
