One of the worst things in life is to feel unwanted and unloved. Imagine life through the eyes of a shelter dog, watching life go by from the other side of the cage door; no one to play with, and watching the sun rise and set on another day of being unnoticed and forgotten.
This has been Bella’s life for the past three and half years at Cove Animal Rescue where she was surrendered in January of 2015. Bella is described as an energetic, petite forty pound, 5-6-year-old brindle female, who wants nothing more than to find a home. She loves to snuggle, loves belly rubs and being petted. She longs for a yard to run and play in, but would also be happy going for regular walks.
Bella also loves people and is very friendly toward everyone she meets. She knows basic commands and how to walk nicely on a leash. She does get leash aggressive when she sees another dog walk by, but is easily re-directed. The shelter volunteer who walks her, feels that exercise and continued training will cure her of that habit.
It is recommended that Bella be the only pet in the house; no other dogs or cats. Because she is a very active girl, it is recommended she go to a household with children ten-years and older. All her high energy will make someone a good running/hiking companion.
What Bella really needs is a savvy, experienced dog family who will be committed to her and continue training with her. Love, patience, and consistency are key to making this girl the very best family member she can be. But for all her good traits, and loving personality, Bella gets passed over again and again. No matter how hard she tries, she just can’t get noticed. This could be due to her breed or her brindle coloring. People look at her and assume the worst; judging her by her appearance before getting to know her.
This beautiful girl is looking for a second chance and a real family that will love and cherish her instead of dumping her at a shelter when they got tired of caring for her. As the sun goes down on another day, Bella watches from her cage, knowing another day has gone by and no one has come for her. She can only hope that tomorrow will be a better day and the day when someone comes and says, “We want you!”

Just when are people going to “get it”? Pit bull mixes are not bad dogs, they’re beautiful,seeet and very loving. It’s the humans who have been nasty to them who have led to the false labelling because they’ve trained them to behave badly. If people don’t want a pit bull they don’t have to badmouth them, they just need to mind their own business.

My Thoughts and Prayers arc, of course wth this beautiful seeet girl to find her ideal furever home and please Lord God, forbid any evil doers from even thinking they could use this girl for their horrid purposes.
