Shepherd on list to be put down

A beautiful, young German shepherd is facing the untimely end of his life – through no fault of his own. Krypto, who is just over a year of age, is truly still a pup – a puppy who should not be facing death.

More information about this shepherd

No need to point out the obvious, Krypto is handsome! Despite his good looks, he has been sitting at the Los Angeles County Animal Control facility (Downey) since September 8. Now, as the clock continues to click, he is almost out of time.

This week, a shelter advocate wrote:

No time left! I asked for more time. But if we dont share, more time doesnt make a difference.
If we can reach more people, we got possibility and hope.
He is an adoptable stunning shepherd, who is smart and teachable. He’s good with calm dogs.
He is so young. We need a good adopter or rescue.

Krypto would thrive with a breed knowledgeable owner – someone who is active and who embraces the intelligence that this breed has to offer.

The huge issue

Krypto is beautiful, purebred, smart, and young – how in the world has he managed to slip through the cracks? The simple truth is that there are dozens of gorgeous dogs just like Krytpo flooding the California shelter system. Dogs who are given up by their families and overlooked by adopters.

Tragically, rescue groups in the area are maxed out – they want to help, but their resources are limited. Dogs who are pulled to rescue require funds for vetting and food – and if there aren’t enough foster homes, there are boarding costs as well.

You can help Krypto by sharing this article with his adoption information. Networking DOES save lives.

  1. German shepherd rescues where are you for this dog? Intelligent and in need of forever home. Please help this dog through no fault of his own. This country has an epidemic of animals who need homes and not enough homes to take them. We need mandatory spay/neutering provided by each state for free, and if not done, owner gets stiff huge fine to pay. The United States should not have animals in situations like this. Politicians do your job and work for this country and those in it. People as well as animals need help.

    • I agree completely and many others do too–there are too many greedy people making money off of helpless animals. Mandatory spay and neuter is the only option and the legislators our “leaders” will never see to fair humane treatment needed. They are useless

  2. I hate these stories, it’s so unfair on the animals. All they’ve ever done is be born in the wrong time or place. They do not deserve to be killed for that when they would make a wonderful companion for someone or family. There need to be major legislation overhauls to stop this from happening, and we all know just what those laws are. I have shared as ideky as I can from Australia.

  3. Please someone who loves animals adopt precious and innocent German Sherpherd Krypto. Krypto is just over a year old and still a puppy.
Please! Please! save Krypto from being murdered. German Shepherd Rescues where are you? Krypto must be saved. He is still a puppy and deserves to be given the chance to live out his precious life with a forever loving family.
