Update 7/13/18: Rescued!

On June 22, a beautiful old shepherd was surrendered to a busy California animal shelter with no reason from his former family. According to United Hope for Animals, 10-year-old Oso appears to have been neglected at his prior home, but he is still social and enjoys spending time with other dogs and people.

Information about Oso

United Hope for Animals has provided a bit of insight into this handsome old boy’s personality:

Weighing 73 lbs, Oso will need grooming and loving care to look and feel his best. Despite showing signs of neglect and possibly spending most of his time in a backyard, he is well socialized and enjoys spending time with other people and dogs. He also seems to be endowed with a talent for showering volunteers with kisses! This sweet elderly gentleman minds his manners and walks great on leash, has a docile energy level and a mellow disposition.

How you can help this senior shepherd

Oso could use the help of strangers right now. You can lend him a hand by sharing this article to your social networking sites (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest). The more people who see Oso, the better his chances are of finding a loving home.
