In a total reverse of humane and ethical hunting practices, bears that happen to roam the federal lands of Alaska, will soon be in big trouble as they fight for their lives as hunters lure them to their deaths baiting the animals with bacon and donuts.

According to Reuters, the Trump administration’s  Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, on Tuesday moved to cancel rules that banned hunting methods on federal land in Alaska  animal advocacy groups and conservationists view as inhumane and cruel. Under the proposed changes, hunters could use dogs to hunt bears, kill wolves and pups in their dens, and use motor boats to shoot swimming caribou. Other animals could be shot and killed from airplanes and snowmobiles, and animals could be lured over to awaiting hunters with sweets and poisons.

The Park Service contends the proposal is consistent with states wanting to expand recreational hunting.

“The proposed rule would apply the State of Alaska’s hunting regulations to national preserve lands, with limited exceptions.”

During Obama’s administration in 2015, legislators banned bear-baiting and stated such predatory methods would upset the balance of wildlife and was “inconsistent with federal law authorizing sport hunting in national preserves in Alaska. In addition, the rule also included a ban on sport hunters using artificial lights to enter into black bear dens as a way to surprise them and kill the mother and her cubs as well as banning the trapping of gray wolves during their denning season,

Zinke, however after several meetings with the National Rifle Association and the Safari Club, contends hunters “will be provided opportunity for harvests of wolves, coyotes, bears, and other species as requested by the public.” An environmental assessment to determine the impact on the wildlife population is planned, however supporters state the impact will be negligible. Republicans cheered the actions while Democrats and conservationists condemned the action.

There are believed to be about 30,000 grizzly bears in Alaska and 100,000 black bears.

“This isn’t hunting — it’s slaughter,” Brett Hartl, government affairs director at the Center for Biological Diversity, said in a statement. “Killing wolves and bears in this cruel, unsportsmanlike fashion is outrageous, especially in national wildlife refuges that belong to all Americans.”

  1. This is cruel and savage! This is not who we are! Refuges are created to protect our animals–not to provide space for them to be targeted and slaughtered! This must be stopped!

  2. Read up folks and take action. Once this happens, it will be difficult to reverse. For the hunters or animals? Decide what is fair to all concerned.

  3. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard of. Are these people so lazy they want to lure animals to them to kill. Humans have shown that they cannot be trusted to only take what they need so within a decade there will be no more animals in this country that roam free.

  4. Could they make this cruelty any worse? Apparently so, since Zinke and his association with the NRA want to literally use anything they want to destroy wildlife and why???? MONEY – that is the bottom line – to allow these so called ‘hunters’ the ability to slaughter animals by any means possible makes me want to puke. I am so sick and tired of the Republican administration treating animals like they are nothing more than disposable objects and can be killed by any means possible – wildlife has a right to be allowed to roam, hunt for food, procreate in peace – Obama had the right idea to protect wildlife – Trump and his cohorts are the worst administration every in power in this country. They are hunting these animals like they are criminals

  5. So fed up with this wretched, animal hating administration and its desire to kill every decent thing about this country, whether it’s the rule of law or the land itself.

This is utterly despicable, and all part of his undoing anything and everything Barack Obama did while at the same time giving more money and opportunities to his rich friends / backers (backers because he doesn’t really have friends).

He’s doing EXACTLY what we said he would, only faster and in record time! Okay— and you know who I’m talking to here— are you willing NOW to admit that you voted for the worst piece of scum EVER to enter the White House, and that includes every crawling vermin and cockroach in the place? You say you love animals, but it’s sheer hypocrisy to support a creature who shows such utter contempt for them, whether they’re wildlife or pets, as well as the land, air, water, our national parks, even US, all because you want him to build a bloody wall!

  6. This is TOTAL BULLSHIT!!!!! Those bears are just trying to survive and now these LAZY ASS HUNTERS want to bait them because they are too DAMNED LAZY to go look for them. Anyone who can kill a baby needs to be shot anyways.

  7. MR TRUMP =JESUS FUCKING CHIRIST =WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING ??BAN THAT =MAKE IT ILLEGAL !!WHY TO KILL THE BEARS AND THEIR YOUNG ONAS ??
