Baby ferret mailed through US Postal Service chewed way out of box

A baby ferret, obviously not happy how about her travel arrangements, chewed her way out of a cardboard box at the United States Postal Service in Denver, Colorado late last week.

According to CbsNews, the Denver Police are investigating this as a case of animal cruelty. The staff at the mail sorting section of the facility were able to capture the little furry creature and called Denver Animal Protection.

“The animal apparently didn’t like its traveling arrangements and chewed its way out and got out at the general mail facility,” stated a Denver Animal Protection field officer, Lorriane Pacheco.

The ferret and her traveling box originated from Fort Morgan, and investigators say they know who sent it. An investigation into whether charges will be pressed are now being determined.

When the animal arrived, she had chewed a small hole and obviously had no trouble escaping. Animal rescue officers stated she was dehydrated, frightened and very tired. Now a week later she is back to being an active baby ferret and is enjoying her stay at the shelter.

Just in case anyone plans to ship a live animal, please note they are required to be secured safely in approved carriers, be vaccinated and have a health certificate. Live animals are not to be shipped through the post office.

So are you wondering what the little cutie has been named? If you guessed “FedEx” you’re right – workers thought it would be easier to call her that name rather than “United States Postal Worker.”

Whatever these morons can do, they will try regardless of whether they get arrested or not. Did they actually think this ferret is going to stay quiet and not try to escape? Dumb morons and no brain cells working, if they ever had them in the first place.
