In Walker County, Alabama, a dog was found on Wednesday roaming the streets with an arrow sticking out from between her eyes. The Walker County Humane Society has stated it is purely a miracle the pup survived as the arrow narrowly missed hitting his brain.
According to AbcNews, people in the Pocohontas area spotted the dog and notified animal control. For nearly a week, the dog was so frightened she eluded capture. Animal control officers used food laced with a sedative to capture the dog.
She was taken to the Farmstead Veterinarian Medical Center in Jasper where the arrow was removed. Technicians at the hospital have been calling the friendly pup Arrow. The dog will remain under medical care for the next few weeks to make sure there is no neurological damage.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that could lead to a conviction. In this case, the person faces first degree animal abuse charges punishable by a one to ten year prison sentence and/or a $15,000 fine. Anyone who knows the person responsible for the dog’s injuries or recognizes this dog, is asked to contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office at (205) 302-6464.
Get well soon Arrow. We hope you find justice.
