Alone and living in filth, Stray Rescue saves another lost soul

Lost, alone and living in filth, a frightened dog hid in the basement of a deserted house in an area of St. Louis where few feared to even tread. When a local resident heard a dog barking from a home where weeds grew through the cracks of the foundation, Donna, a volunteer from Stray Rescue of St. Louis, didn’t hesitate for a moment to offer help for a stray dog in dire need.

As Donna climbed her way through the debris, she could hear the dog barking; and there she was – hiding in the electrical room in a hot basement.

Slowly Donna moved in and quietly gained the dog’s confidence even though she barked and growled – not entirely sure of what was to be. When finally the dog, who was soon to be named Jamie Lee, was able to be leashed, the two walked away from a living hell.

Watch the video and be prepared to smile. Jamie Lee couldn’t help smiling as she repeatedly offered her paw and turned over onto her back for a long-time missing “good old fashioned belly rub.”

Many thanks to our unsung heroes for those who cannot speak.

Help more dogs just like Jamie Lee.

Jamie finds her freedom!

Lost and alone, living in filth. We found her hiding in an electrical room in the hot basement of a house that was literally falling down. Weeds grew through the cracks of the foundation and sweat dripped down our backs. Jamie, you are safe now, you sweet soul.

God bless the lucky doggy and all the angel rescuers!

The owner who abandoned you has one foot in “hell”! Happily, this subhuman piece of garbage will find out what it’s like to feel the heat!

Thank you Donna and Stray Rescue of St. Louis for rescuing Jamie Lee and getting her into a safe environment. She is now not on the streets and is being cared for. If not for you she could have been in severe danger. You saved a life!
