Cat homeless after 19 years
Spread the love

A post made by the New Hampshire SPCA on Friday is garnering a great deal of attention. The animal welfare agency has issued a plea on behalf of a 19-year-old cat who finds herself homeless and in need of a new family. The shelter explained:

Tigger is 19 years old. Nineteen. Imagine how she must feel to be homeless after spending her entire life with the same family. The shelter environment is stressful for cats, but even more so for senior cats. It’s a traumatic thing to lose the only home you have ever known.

Concerns for this elderly cat’s health

The shelter hopes to find sweet Tigger a home as soon as possible…before she gets sick. The agency explains:

Older cats can have a compromised immune system which often leads to upper respiratory infections. We are working hard to keep Tigger happy and healthy while she stays with us, but it’s critical we find her a home as quickly as possible.

A plea for help

Tigger is one of the oldest cats that the shelter has attempted to find a home for. Staff is counting on the community to step up and offer her a loving place to spend what remains of her life; they wrote:

Tigger is one of the oldest cats we’ve ever placed up for adoption. While many shelters wouldn’t even consider adoption for a cat at such an advanced age, we’re placing our faith in our community. She deserves a chance. Someone needs this sweet girl… as much as she needs them. Please, can you help them find each other?

  1. Please find a beloved home for sweet Tigger as soon as possible…before she gets sick. If I lived in your country, I would definitely adopt precious Ginger. It might not be for long but it would warm my heart and Gingers so Ginger would be able to live the time Ginger has left in a loving home with me and my other precious pussy cats. Hang in their Ginger an animal loving person will look after you. Bless you Ginger.

  2. Tigger still looks great for a cat her again. She has a such a loving, nice face and would make any family happy to have her in their lives. Someone grab Tigger and make her happy again.

  3. Isn’t there someone at the shelter who could foster Tigger for a little while? To at least give her a place to stay where she could be more comfortable?

  4. Please don’t euthanize these pets. It’s not their fault that their owners died or abandoned them. Cant they be fostered while looking for a home.

  5. ???? PLEASE SHARE AND NETWORK. ???? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP THIS PRECIOUS TABBY KITTY! TIGGER SHOULD BE ENJOYING HER GOLDEN YEARS IN A LOVING HOME INSTEAD OF BEING ABANDONED IN A STRESSFUL LOUD SHELTER!!! SOMEONE PLEASE BE A HERO TO THIS BEAUTIFUL TABBY!!! PLEASE! ????????????????
