Adorable stray puppies given first ‘euth’ injection saved at last moment

In a rural Georgia animal shelter, no one came to adopt five adorable and healthy puppies. They had been on stray hold for eight days, and their time on earth was ending at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. The Australian shepherd mixes were unwanted puppies thrown away as if their lives didn’t matter. Neither one had been given a name. Their innocent lives had already been given the first ‘euth’ injection prior to a poison filled syringe to be jabbed directly into their chest walls.

Their story, however does continue:

“We wish we were never born. We were laid on a cold concrete floor and given the first injection to sedate us. Everything began to feel weird. We couldn’t stand, we felt sleepy and then we fell down and were totally sedated. The vet then came into the room to inject the second shot which would stop our hearts. That didn’t happen. A miracle took place. Our voices were heard.”

Office Manager, Kristin White at McIntosh County Animal Services shared the story of the puppies with Animal Aid USA. Volunteers rushed to the shelter, and from this day forward two lucky puppies will get to grow up and enjoy life – just as it should be. To donate please click here.

Links and videos to the other three pups saved can be followed here or viewed below.

According to the ASPCA, new data shows decreases in shelter intake and euthanasia of homeless dogs and cats. Although there are still regional disparities, an estimated 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted each year which is up from 2.7 million adoptions in 2011. Please don’t shop for your next best friend. Be sure to spay and neuter.

      • Thank you so much Cheryl for posting that
I’m so glad and thanks so much for saving them
So nice to see the rest of them safe
        I crosspost on facebook
Is this the name of the shelter.McIntosh County Animal Services

  1. It’s not right that we kill our animals because we can’t find a solution that fits us. Lawmakers must be shown these stories and statistics. They are far removed from animal welfare issues and we need to keep it ever before them until their hearts can’t take it anymore.

  2. Thank God! They’re so adorable! It’s hard to believe no one wanted them at all. Aussies are such great dogs, and these little guys are going to make some lucky people companions and great family members.

  3. I’m so happy this ended well. But I’m still sickened by the thought that innocent, young lives are taken every day for what, “space”? I understand it costs money to keep these animals, but there has got to be a better way. Euthanasia is just the easy way. Breaks my heart.

  4. WTF????? There are still places using the heart chest puncture method????? That is cruel beyond words. That is a horrible death and I can’t believe somebody would do that. I hope anybody who does that kind of shot into a dog or a cat or any other living creature goes to fucking hell in a handbasket. But not before they suffer.

    • with you on that 100%
This is know to be heartstick too
It the cheaper way of killing them.
We treat out animals like trash

    • Agree with you there! Horrible way for them to die. It’s only quick if the injection hits the heart, if not they ley there and suffer until they die.
These shelters obviously are still in the dark ages.
Thankfully, these puppies didn’t have to find out about this.

  5. If ALL shelters spayed/neutered animals before being up for adoption it would cut down on unwanted puppies being dumped like garbage. I am not sure I totally understand this post – it says two were saved, then further down it says the other three were also saved – exactly what is the real story – were all saved? And where are they now? Back in the so called ‘shelter’? And as far as the ASPCA is concerned I don’t believe much of what they claim – they don’t do much, if anything for animals in shelters, they are way too busy promoting themselves with their PR and begging for money that 90% of the animals never see. As you can see, I am no fan of them or the HSUS – donate to your local animal charities –

  6. ONE WAY ( TO SAVE THOUSANDS OF USA BORN AND RAISED DOGS) is to Do Something about HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL CONTINIOUSLY BRINGING IN DOGS FOR THE THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES !!! AS sad as it is that those animals languish in Asia, China, Mexico, Africa … THE DOGS WE HAVE ALREADY IN SHELTERS IN THE USA LOSE a CHANCE of a HOME EVERYTIME a FORIEGN DOG enters OUR COUNTRY… NOT TO MENTION the Costs of this transportation that COULD BE USED TO SPAY NUETER, and PROVIDE ASSISTANCE in the CARE OF our Own COUNTRIES STRAYS FIRST & ALWAYS!!!!

  7. This is pathetic ! I hope anyone who works at a killing shelter dies a horrible death ! Anyone who can kill innocent animals deserves a horrible death ! You CAN FIND OTHER SHELTERS TO WORK WITH YOU TO SAVE EVERYONE OF THEM ! There is NO EXCUSE FOR ANY SHE.TER TO DO THIS !
