Good news for a dog found Friday with “free” and “free to good home” written on her side and head with a permanent black market has been adopted. On Wednesday, the Ross County Humane Society in Chillicothe, Ohio made the announcement.
Marvella, a Labrador retriever mix had been abandoned in Yoctangee Park. Photos of the dog sparked outrage across the country followed by a ton of offers to adopt her. More than 30 applications flooded in from across the country.
“After sorting through the hundreds of applications we received from across the nation, Linette Wrightsel and her family will be giving Marvella a loving and stable home. We would like to thank Brothers Pressure Washing & Window Cleaning for donating to cover her adoption fee as well as the entire public who has donated to her care! Please remember that in any shelter on any given day there are dogs who have been given away as “free to good home” and are awaiting their forever home, just like Marvella,” Sarah Contrell with the Ross County Humane Society wrote on Facebook.
There is no doubt that Marvella is an extremely sweet dog. Now she has a home and will be loved and cared for – just as she deserves. Save a life and find your new best friend. Go to the nearest shelter and adopt.
The Chillicothe Police have started an investigation into who abandoned Marvella. They currently have a person of interest.
