At a press conference on Friday, members of the multi-jurisdictional animal abuse task force, District Attorney Nancy O’Malley and police announced a $15,000 reward has been offered to find the torturer of the mutilated three German shepherd puppies earlier in the week. Found in a trash pile in Oakland, one of the puppies had her paw severed off and the other two suffered broken jaws believed to have been done by some kind of tool.
According to SFGate, DA O’Malley emphasized the egregious crime could be a sign the responsible person could also be torturing children or women.
“It’s hard to imagine who could hurt innocent animals, but we also can’t imagine who can hurt innocent children.”
Two of the puppies were found last Saturday by a homeless person and turned over to Rocket Dog Rescue. The two four-month-old puppies, named Freya and Frigg are recovering. Freya’s broken jaw has since been operated on. Frigg has been adopted. The third puppy, a shepherd and husky mix, now named Chloe was at the press conference. Her jaw was similarly broken as was Freya’s – experts stated some kind of tool was used to torture and mutilate the pups.
O’Malley stated the puppies are not believed to have been victims of dog fighting but rather of someone who deliberately used a tool to torture the defenseless animals “because they are cruel people.” The puppies are believed to have been pets since all three have been socialized.
Authorities believe the incidents are all related, even though the two German shepherd puppies were found on Saturday, and the white husky puppy was discovered a few days later. Both Pet Food Express, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and an anonymous donor have offered the generous reward.
The culprits responsible could be charged with felony animal cruelty and be sentenced to three-years in prison.

I am DAMN HAPPY that the OAKLAND AUTHORITIES are TAKING THIS SERIOUS … $15,000 may well be enough TO HAVE ONE RAT GO AND RAT OUT THE VILE EVIL BASTARD doing this!!!! Thank you to the Rescues, Vets, Public and the Authorities for going ALL OUT for JUSTICE!!
When this vile person is found, death would be the punishment he/she deserves and no less. This goes beyond felony charges and a short time in jail. These type of crimes must have stiffer sentencing and even death. This is someone who does not deserve to be around normal people. Are the courts going to wait until an animal abuser goes on to kill or molest a person or child?
Please send this to every lawmaker and tell them why we have to have harsher penalties for animal cruelty. Three years is nothing compared to the suffering these animals have gone through.

Cruel people deserve cruel demises – a $15000. reward should be someone to the surface who will talk. Whoever tortured these poor dogs should be tortured to death – hogtied and dumped in the nearest landfill, all while waiting to the next trash truck to dump a load of garbage on them – three years in jail is nowhere near enough – anyone who would do this needs a long, painful suffering death – let them suffocate under tons of trash.
