An attendant in Bangkok, at a Thailand zoo videoed poking a tiger with a hot stick for tourists to pose or sit on top of the animal, has sparked fury around the world. The video, released on Monday, filmed at the Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm, has been viewed more than two million times showing the attendant repeatedly prodding the animal with the hot stick  to make him roar.

“The tiger gets poked all day, hundreds of times a day so it will roar for the picture with tourists,” stated Edwin Wisk, the founder of Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand.”

“We will be creating campaign videos regarding the treatment of animals in the tourism industry here in Thailand. This is an example of how tigers are treated so idiotic tourists can get their holiday selfie.”

According to a statement from the zoo, the attendant shown in the video has since been transferred to another job; officials added the owner of the zoo loves animals and would not let anyone hurt the animals.

The tourist trade in Thailand has been booming, and the lure for animal selfies has taken on another lucrative business over the  humane treatment towards wild animals. Here is where tourists take photos, as they ride elephants, hold monkeys and pet tigers as mementos and bragging rights to bring home. The zoo’s website shows photos of white tigers, bears and many other wild animals. In addition, there is a daily show featuring a man fighting crocodiles with his bare hands.

Just two weeks ago,  a disturbing and shocking event in India was shown in a video of a young elephant being savagely beaten by its India captors to be used in the tourism trade. In the shocking footage, the young elephant’s front leg had been tied to a tree; three men continually beat the animal with canes until the elephant collapsed to the ground. Even then, the torturers didn’t stop lashing the animal; that is until their weapons snapped in half and the baby elephant’s back leg broke.

The video is being shared in advance of Thai National Wildlife Day on December 26.

  1. It’s so obvious this poor Animal is also drugged. The asshole trainer is an idiot and you tourist are just ignorant no good Moran’s.

  2. Look at the tiger’s ears, too – pressed back against his head. This is abuse – big time. I hope the tiger kills the idiot trainer but then it would only end badly for the tiger as he’d be killed for doing it.

  3. One day the tiger will have this idiot trainer for lunch. Wild animals should live in the wild where they belong, not in some cage or forced to perform for tourists. Capturing wild animals for commerical purposes should be banned globally.

  4. I can not stand that some humans are so damn lazy they refuse to work….instead they abuse and mistreat an animal in order to make money…..there will be a special place in hell for these lazy, monstrous, evil things!

  5. These assholes who think a selfie with a wild animal is fun will change their idiot minds quickly when one of these abused, drugged animals turn and take revenge on them. It will happen – these animals are treated so poorly as shown in this video it is bound to happen. Thailand needs a massive wake up call – but HUMAN GREED reigns. This maggot attendant needs that hot stick shoved right where the sun don’t shine. People are so damn stupid and those smiling douchebag tourists prove it.

  6. I find it hard to believe the owner was not aware what this POS was doing! Something else is wrong with the tiger since it does not retaliate for being poked with a hot stick.

  7. I would love to see someone take that stick and stick it where the sun don’t shine. There is no reason but GREED for this to be done to that Tiger. Better yet, let the tiger have his time with him. No loss there, sub-humans don’t count.
