In West Palm Beach, Florida, a one-year-old Yorkie continues to fight for her life after she was dropped off at a local animal clinic with her mouth tied shut with an elastic hair tie. The band that bound the seven-pound dog’s muzzle had been tied so tightly that it cut a 3/4 inch gash penetrating the bone.

According to Paws 2 Help founder Eve Van Engel, it is unclear who is responsible for the apparent animal cruelty to the dog now dubbed Pixie.

“We have submitted the little information that we have to Animal Care and Control, we hope that they will be able to investigate and find out more information, and the owners,” Eve posted on the organization’s Facebook Sunday afternoon.

What is known so far is suspicious however very sketchy. Two women dropped the dog off at the clinic on Saturday afternoon; each woman having a conflicting story and neither stating they knew who tied the dog’s mouth shut. One woman stated the dog had belonged to her father, but when a neighbor continued to complain the dog wouldn’t stop barking, that neighbor came over and tied the pooch’s muzzle shut. It is not known how long the band had been on the dog, however Pixie suffers from an extensive infection. All that can be established is the dog had been living in a cage outside on a concrete patio and apparently had been passed from one person to another during her short life.

The staff is trying to tempt Pixie to eat – and have been offering her baby food.

“If she survives another 18 hours and still cannot eat, we will plan on operating and inserting a feeding tube,” the clinic stated.

To help with Pixie’s medical expenses, donations can be made here.

  1. Passed from person to person? Every single one of those scumbags should be jailed and fed nothing but bread and water for life!

  2. This is so disturbing I’m at a loss for words:(((( such a small innocent baby to have to go thru this
I’m appalled at what sick fucks do to dogs; my heart is broken:((((((((((( Many tears

  3. WTF is wrong with these assholes????? IF the dog isn’t wanted (obviously) take her to a shelter or Yorkie Rescue!!!!Cruelty is never right!!!! Stupid pieces of shit, ALL of you!!!!Why did you NOT remove the band????.. Disgusting to say the VERY least!!!! Ugly humans!!

  4. Only one year old and this is what her life has been. Why? Who does this to this poor little innocent pup? They all need to be charged with abuse, the owner, the neighbor who supposedly tied the pups mouth shut and the two women who turned her in, they obviously did nothing to help her!

    • Fool! The two women in question, they’re the ones who took up the dog and brought her to the vet, where soon after arrival, emergency surgery was performed on the pup to remove the hair tie.

      • Fool? if you read my post I say “they all need to be charged with abuse, the owner, the neighbor who supposedly tied the pups mouth shut and the two women who turned her in”. Why are you calling ME a fool?

      • Yea…Fool…the women with conflicting stories!! Yea. How nice. And too wait this long??? Wow. Do you have dogs???

      • I think they knew if the dog died…BIG TROUBLE!! By the way…NONE of these “so called rescue” woman have come forward to help with investigators OR money!! Who’s the FOOL???

      • And obviously if one of the women’s father was the dogs owner, and she new the neighbor had put the tie on the dog, she did very little to help the poor thing until it was an emergency situation, I don’t see either one of them stepping forward to help with the vet bills!

  5. I’m sick over this! I don’t know what to even say about this type of horror anymore! Praying healing prayers for Pixie

  6. VILE HUMANS NEED ELIMINATION. IT WOULD SAVE THE REST OF US “ANIMAL LOVERS” FROM DEALING WITH THEIR SUB HUMAN BEHAVIORS. I DETEST SUB HUMANS WHO ARE CRUEL TO ANIMALS. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  7. I am so sick of the abuse that monsters inflict on poor helpless animals. The ONLY confort from these stories is knowing they will BURN FOR ETERNITY in hell….. they will have forever to remember what they did to these poor precious furbabies.

  8. New news, Pixie was adopted by someone in the clinic and is eating gerbers! I’m so happy for her. apparently she was passed around and a neighbor tied her mouth shut. She was living outside. Hoping for charges, 5 year max for animal cruelty for the owner and neignbor.

  9. We need stiffer sentances for animal cruelity. This is terriable. I would love ro get my hands on the one that did this. No animal deserves this. So sad .

  10. poor baby. svum bags need to be hung. it pisses me off. an innocent baby, wanting to be loved, then treated like this. sickening.

  11. If there is CCTV footage of these heinous women find them & arrest them. Why in hell wouldn’t they have taken the tie off, what a load of shit

    • Attempts were made upon finding the helpless dog, but they decided not to do it themselves.
If you look at the first image above the article, it is clear that the wound was very deep and the dog was in great pain. The best way to remove the hair tie without harming the dog any further would be to take it to a vet where they’d safely remove it from around the mouth and treat the wound.
And that is what the two young women did. To remove it themselves would be even more cruel and far more traumatic to the dog, given its already messy situation.

      • Ebony They didn’t have to find the dog. The dog lived in a cage on a concrete porch. The dog belong to the father of one of the women that dropped Pixie off at the shelter. They claim a neighbor did the cruel act and yet the family did nothing all this time. That tie was on there for sometime to have caused a 3/4 inch gash almost penetrating the bone!

  12. This people should be investigated the one that drop him. they know who the dog belongs too. I cry like a baby, since 3 years ago my Yorkie was stolen, I do have an Idea who did it, He did not like my yorkie barg so much, It was my neighbor, I had left it up to God. I think that people who hurts animal the same thing it should be done to them. they are sick, We had to do a neighbor community look out. any abuse we see we should reported, first we take the dog or the animal. and them we beat them up the person. God cry went he made us, I do believe he though we were the worst animal on earth. Praying for pixie

  13. These people are just plain sick doing that to a poor little thing like that. I have a Yorkie myself and that’s what they do. They’re extremely good watchdogs and very protective for little dogs. I suggest if people want peace and quiet then move to a cemetery I’d hate to see what they’d do to children!!!!!!
