Woman witnessed disturbing animal abuse in Oregon gas station

A Hillsboro, Oregon woman videoed a disturbing animal cruelty situation on Monday at the Shell gas station located on SE Baseline and Third Street. As the woman stepped off the bus to grab purchase a beverage, she noticed a man come into the store with his dog.

“This guy comes in with his pup. His presence wasn’t easily ignored, and he walks in angrily yanking his dog up off the ground by the dog’s leash,” states Sunshine Alexandria on her Facebook page after sharing the video on social media. “The poor dog is so scared of being hit by this piece of human garbage again, so he doesn’t want to walk; he just lays down in submission.”

Alexandria describes the man’s anger and his frustration that his dog was so terrified and just cowered in utter submission, the man then proceeds to scream at the dog.

“…SCREAMING in the animal’s face and kicking it in the ribs, punching him, etc. while the dog just cries and lays there. What I was able to record was the last bit of the abuse and nothing compared to what I witnessed off camera,” Alexandria added.

The woman filed a police report in addition to notifying the humane society before she started to gather video evidence. Please share this video and help to identify this man and the dog. Who knows what could happen to this dog? Be the voice for those who cannot speak.

The Oregon Humane Society is asking anyone with details about this this case to report it to OHS Investigations https://www.oregonhumane.org/…/suspected-animal-cruelty/

There is still the citizens arrest. I have done it for dogs and will continue . My gramma (Mom’s side) would have whacked this sewer scum up the side of his head. My daughter would have kicked this a-hole where it hurts. My son-in law wou;d do his thing too. Instead of pictures —ACT.

The same here. I feel for the dog. The POS that is the dog’s owner has no idea about how to treat his dog, and shouldn’t be allowed to continue the abuse. It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the dog is dead, and the owner is charged with felony animal abuse because of it.

I believe I would have confronted him and did everything in my power to take that poor dog away after getting video evidence. This POS needs to meet justice. It needs to knock him to his knees and take his breath. Sorry excuse for a man!

I will never freaking understand why ANYONE who does not love animals, and does not consider them family wants a pet. It is obvious this worthless, useless, piece of garbage does not deserve this beautiful animal. Hopefully someone comes forward that knows this monster and this poor abused dog will be taken from him before he is killed or fatally injured. If you do find him…………..the monster that is…………….show him how it feels to be abused…… PLEASE.

You can only sit there and pray? You won’t ask to push the laws, that is how everyone ignores the problem and tolerates violence in society. Why not to say , hey, we need to take away the rights of the person who did this act of cruelty? If this would happen to a child we would be angry about the sentence instead of focusing on just hoping! I wish more people would get angry the laws are ridiculous. This is evryones fault! The whole world praying while pets have no way to speak, no vote, no rights, so they are the most vulnerable creatures. People get angry about taxes and do not pray about that, they push for a real change.

The news just reported the owner was identified and the dog was confiscated and taken to a vet. Unfortunately Oregon’s law are extremely lax. Its legal to put your dog in the back of an open pickup here which I see all the time. I’m from Nevada where this has been illegal for years. Oregon needs to enact more stringent laws and enforce them to discourage animal abuse. The guy probably wont even be charged. ☹

Pam maybe you need to contact your state reps and senators to get stronger laws enacted. Sometimes it just takes one person to get the ball rolling. Illinois has strong laws but we need judges with more backbone. It’s a start!

What we need are judges that will take this abuse seriously, you can have all the harsh laws in the world and when the judges let these abusers get away with a “slap on the wrist” it solves nothing. I hope they throw the book at this POS but I won’t hold my breath!

Barkley’s Mom, U are so right!! Here in Ohio we fought to have animal cruelty elevated to a class3 felony but I have not seen much improvement in punishment! These judges better keep in mind that we are the ones who vote them into office and if they can’t get with the program then out they go! I often wonder if these judges who mete out the slap on wrist punishment to these horrid abusers then turn around and go home to their own well taken care of pets!

I would have approached the guy and ask him to stop it, or I’ll call the police. Or remove the dog, and call the humane society.
