Newark police are investigating a disturbing animal cruelty incident which occurred at the South Ward when an emotionally charged man killed a dog on Friday afternoon. According to RlsMedia, an apparent stray dog appeared on Runyon Street and began chasing people in the area. As one man tried to run away, he tripped and fell and the dog attacked, but quickly retreated and ran away.

Moments later, a stranger appears walking down the street and spots the dog resting near a car. The man removes his belt and ties it around the dog’s neck walking the animal over to a nearby parking lot at which time the man lifts the dog up on a fence as the dog strangled to death. Horrified bystanders, including young children, witnessed the disturbing action and rushed over to save the dog, but it was already too later – the dog had died. The man responsible walked away, but not before shouting to witnesses it was not his dog.

The victim was not seriously injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate.

    • Does anyone know who did this! Baster needs to be arrested. A stray needs love and attention, not a barbaric hanging. This POS needs to be hung the same way!!!!!

  1. I hope somebody hangs this scumbag bastard for hanging the dog on a fence. If the dog was so damn vicious he wouldn’t be sitting down allowing the bastard to put a belt around his neck. Rot with cancer and slowly die this Motherf*&ker.

    • RIP furbaby, you had no home, now no life. You deserved better. Why didn’t anyobe call for help, 911? I don’t understand not one person came to his rescue. Well all of ya’ll have to live with that!!!!

  2. OMG: This F…..G POS needs to be found and locked up forever.

RIP poor furbaby. You did not deserve to be murdered. The POS who murdered you will burn in Hell forever for his cruelty…….

  3. A “stranger” walks down the street, put’s his belt around the dog’s neck and then leads him to a parking lot where he hangs him? A dog that people were running from because he was attacking? What is wrong with this scenario? Everyone was afraid of the dog except this “one” man? SMH!

  4. If I had witnessed that POS I would have taken the chance and jumped him before he succeeded killing the dog. Hope they find this disgusting asshole!

    • Nancy Raymond Im on your team. This abusers have to suffer and then a slow death. That is the only way to clean up this earth.

  5. Everybody watched while this lunatic killed this dog!!!!! I’m sorry pup that humans betrayed you. This POS should be taken off the street and locked up.

  6. I live and have a practice here in NJ and its a sad fact that in the cities north of me this is not an isolated incident! I wish i could wave a magic wand but none exists!

  7. make sure this POS SOB EVIL MONSTER GOES TO PRISAON FOR LIFE AND NO PAROLE!!!!! THIS BASTARD DESERVES TO BE HUNG FROM A TREE!!!!! IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS….GO AFTER THIS POS. HE DESERVES ALL PEOPLE CAN GIVE HIM!!!!!!

  8. So many wicked evil people in this world! WTF is going on! People standing by and letting this happen! Where is the compassion! Have we become a society that turns a blind eye on what’s going on! Someone could have stepped in and helped this poor dog! I am very saddened by this!

  9. Another repulsive psychopathic animal hater and loose cannon. I wish they could locate this man because I’d be more afraid of him running rampant than this poor stray dog, who they say retreated and was just sitting nearby. Apparently, he was just scared. This psycho thinks he is coming in like King Kong; nobody was asking for his help which was to be a big badass and murder a stray animal. May they find this guy, and put him behind bars and may the prisoners show him as much mercy as he showed this animal. Rest in peace to another one. Prayers.

  10. I WISH I CAN FIND THIS ROTTEN POS. THIS DOG WASN’T ATTACKING ANYONE IF WAS RUNNING AROUND PROBABLY TRYING TO ASK ASSHOLE HUMANS TO HELP HIM. I CAN’T STAND WATCHING THIS VIDEO I WANT TO FIND THIS USELESS POS AND HANG HIM BY THE THROAT. I HOPE SOMETHING SERIOUS HAPPENS TO HIM NOW FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE. YES, AND THOSE USELESS HUMANS STANDING AROUND WATCHING ARE JUST AS BAD. NO WONDER I WEAR A SHIRT THAT SAYS “DOGS ARE MY FAVORITE PEOPLE.” ALL ANIMAL ABUSERS NEED IMMEDIATE BAD LUCK THEY ROT IN PAIN WITH CANCER AND DIE. I JUST HATE THEM AND THEY MAKE MY BLOOD BOIL.

  11. I can’t believe humans that saw this dog did not stop and help the dog! Obviously he needed help and unfortunately, no human was nice enough to help him… sad sad world we live in! I rescued a labrador 5 years ago. He was wondering in our neighborhood looking for something to eat, and I was heading towards the traffic when I saw him and stopped my car and had him got in my car immediately before he gets ran over or meets an evil like this guy. So then I took him to my home, went to the neighborhood and yelled if anyone lost a dog, no answer. Took him to shelter to give the owner a chance to find him for the 3 day period. Each day I called for him to see how he was doing, or if an owner called for him they said no. So I adopted him as soon as 3 days passed. He is such a great dog, and whoever left him outside intentionally probably did not want him anymore. Found out he has diabetis, and a pre condtion the vet says. He ended up with bladder incontinence for awhile until we got his insulin stabilized, and now twice a day. I believe that there is a reason why I found him, and I think that if he was to stay with his previous owner he would not have stand a chance he would have been euthanized because he would too much. I found him for a reason, and this is what we should do when we see a dog out there…we do the right thing and help the voiceless!
