The Greater Sudbury Police Service in Ontario charged two people on Wednesday evening with animal cruelty related to videos which had been circulating on social media of a dog being abused. According to the Sudbury.com, two videos posted to Facebook on Wednesday showed a young woman hitting a dog repeatedly and shoving its face into what appeared to be feces. The woman was shown beating a white pit bull with her fist – blaming the dog for eating cat food. Facebook users had been circulating the names of the couple they said posted the disturbing videos, that is until the social media accounts were deleted.

Police asked for the public’s help, and on Wednesday, the police posted updated information on Twitter as well as their Facebook page announcing two suspects had been charged with animal cruelty. Staff Sergeant Peter Orsino released the following statement:

“The greater Sudbury Police criminal investigation unit have arrested two individuals with respect to the video clip that was released earlier today. There was a 20 year old male and an 18 year old female arrested for cruelty to animals. The dogs that were involved in this incident have not been located yet. We are seeking the public’s assistance in locating those dogs. The criminal investigation unit have received additional tips with respect to other things that these suspects have been involved with and that is in the early stages of the investigation.”

On Thursday morning came more good news; the dogs and cats allegedly abused have been located. In an early tweet, the Sudbury Police announced the pets had been located. Soon after that, more details of the rescue were made public:

“All of the animals that were associated to the residence have been located, three kittens and two dogs, one of which is the dog in the video, Chico. The dogs were found in the care of two separate people, who kept them safe until officers attended. The three kittens were located inside of the residence. The animals are safe and with animal care professionals. The animals all appear to be doing well and will be examined by a veterinarian as a precaution. We would like to thank the public for all of its assistance with this matter, including the sharing of information through our social media platforms.”

The names of the suspects have not been made public at this time. An investigation continues.

  1. You IGNORANT CUNT! I’d LOVE to give YOU a beat-down… you BITCH!
And that asshole boyfriend of yours, too!
May you be charged to the fullest extent of the laws, and NEVER BE ALLOWED TO OWN OR BE AROUND COMPANION ANIMALS, EVER AGAIN!
You have lost that privilege – FOREVER!

  2. Horrible evil people who abuse dogs I hope they get punished & rot & starve please help abused doggie Barbaragarabedian

  3. And, another thing, how about taking your dog out more frequently so it doesn’t relieve himself in the house and putting the cat food where the dog can eat it. Oh, I get it–these two idiots haven’t figured that out. I hate these people.

  4. What kind of stupid son of a birch are these things. Eating Shit is to good for them. I wish ed I could have just a few minutes with them I would make believers out of them. Ii hope they get prison time and an animal lover gets hold of them. Would serve them right.

  5. I am glad they have been arrested and the animals seized, but in Ontario, we have BSL in place (and have for years) – chances are, that poor Pitty will be euthanized simply because of it’s breed. I beg, if there are any out-of-province rescue groups reading this, please make arrangements to take the Pitbull – otherwise, it will most likely be killed by Animal Control. :'(

  6. Way to go Toronto, canada!!
We can learn a lot from our good neighbors to the north.
It seems like meny good hands were st work.
    Inpressive.

  7. Once again I can’t watch the video!! But I’m SO,SO HAPPY these scum bag pos have been found and charged! But most of all I’m SO,SO HAPPY these precious pets have been found and rescued! They hid those dogs because they KNEW sooner or later they would be located and charged for what they did!! Start significantly punishing the sewer rats that hurt innocent, helpless animals and maybe the brutal cruel jerks who inflict harm upon animals will think twice before repeating it again!!

  8. I just cleaned out my cats litter boxes and I would thoroughly enjoyed getting my hands on that stupid 19 year old bitch and stuffing her face in the bag with the dirty litter in it – and tie the bag around her neck so she can get a good sniff. These two ignorant punks need a dose of their own medicine. So glad the animals were found – DO NOT LET THEM ANYWHERE NEAR THESE ANIMALS AGAIN.

  9. These A.H.’s are monsters who deserved to be locked away…..and if not that…. then a LIFE TIME BAN ON EVER OWNING OR LIVING IN THE SAME HOME AS A PET!!!. Preferably these two just run right into KARMA soon.

  10. That girl needs the sh** beat out or her. Both the owners do, you don’t treat poor fur babies this way they depend on humans to take care of them. Not to beat them, I’m sure when they was babies growing up and had to be trained/taught they wasn’t beat to teach them.
