It was a disturbing discovery in Vallejo, California for a woman walking her dog near an embankment off Columbus Parkway. A local resident, Carine Peters had been walking her German shepherds away from Blue Rock Springs Park when her dogs nosed their way into the nearby bushes. That’s when Carine spotted three black plastic garbage bags – dogs stuffed inside of them and a few dead bodies lying nearby.

According to Fox News, the bodies of the dogs had been deteriorating, but Carine was able to identify their breeds  and stated there were between 10 and 12 dogs – some looked like Labrador retrievers, poodles, spaniels, and all seemed to have been well-groomed. None of the bodies wore any collars or had identification tags.

“These animals lost their lives to something sick and depraved. I don’t know what happened. Were they bait dogs for fighting? Is there some individual out here that is killing dogs?, stated Carine who found the dogs in mid-February.  Of course I want a full-blown homicide investigation; they say there’s nothing to test, or to look at. In my mind there is.”

Even though she reported the grisly scene, it took a long time for Animal Control officers to arrive at the spot, and by then the weather and coyotes had caused most of the evidence of lost lives to disappear. The Vallejo Police Department and Animal Control have refused to investigate.   What Carine did find, however were two poles found near the dogs’ bodies. One of the poles had a box cutter blade attached to it. Was that used to kill the dogs, Carine wondered? The other pole had a scissors type head to it; black fur and plastic still entangled.

The Center of Animal Rescue and Education of Solano County has stepped up to help; believing the dogs were once someone’s pets. The organization is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible person(s) involved in this heinous deed.

  1. WTH isn’t there an investigation? The woman who found them, Carine Peters, is more concerned about it than the authorities.

  2. I am horrified by this awful news…… I wonder if these dogs were “rehomed” via “craigslist” (or some other similar website) to dogfighters who used them as “bait dogs”……. or worse yet, rehomed to a serial dog killer (who trolls websites looking for and answering “free to good home” ads)…..

I am from the Bay Area near this city. That the “authorities” refused to investigate (& waited until critical evidence was destroyed before actually even visiting the site) is, sadly, not surprising given the city where these dogs were found is not well managed (least affluent in the Bay Area with minimal funds for ANYTHING, let alone investigators and investigations)……. This does NOT excuse their inaction….. just explains it…….

Someone must know the POS’s who did this…… does your neighbor always have “new pets”??? Maybe ask ?’s…… how is your new poodle that I saw last week….. how is your new yorkie I saw last month…..

I am heartbroken for the suffering of these poor dogs…. RIP precious furbabies……. the monsters who killed you will burn in Hell forever for their cruelty……

    • Amen….someone knows who did this….I pray they come forward and are punished for hurting these precious babies. This world we live in is getting more & more depraved everyday.

  3. Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.

If this is not investigated and the monsters found…there is no hope for our society.

  4. These public officials need to be fired immediately and investigated to see if they are responsible or abetting those monsters and if guilty, given very long prison sentences!

  5. Why wouldn’t they investigate something like this, at the very least it’s illegal dumping and disposing of an animal. This unfortunately is how much dogs are cared about by some. The Vallejo Police Department and Animal Control should be ashamed of themselves! Rest in peace poor dogs!

  6. While I abhore this killing of innocent animals, I take offense to bunny p. Labeling Vallejo as the least affluent city in the Bay Area. Not so! Get your facts straight before you make such ignorant remarks.

    • Hi Nancy:

I have my facts straight. I (& my extended family) have lived in this area for 4 generations……

I regularly drive through Vallejo (& surrounding areas)……

  7. So many disgusting, depraved, brutal sickos living among us in this life. Such a disrespect for life and unfortunately this will probably never be solved, and even if they do catch this cruel and immoral dog killer will the courts punish this killer? My bet is NO! The courts will generate some money by imposing the standard fine and the abuser will walk with a month or two of probation. So on and on it goes, day after day,a dispicable crime that the law makers and the judicial system simply refuses to punish! I think the only reason the authorities take the time to arrest these criminals is so the courts can generate money because the criminal certainly never gets punished! So of course this crime will never be slowed down because there are absolutely no repercussions for the abusers. If a robber is arrested but not punished common sense is that the robber will be back at by the end of the week! It’s absolutely ridiculous and insane and outrageous!

  8. My middle finger goes out to the police dept. and to Animal Control for not investigating this case. Bastards! You could start by tracking down anyone who reported a missing/kidnapped dog. RIP to the deceased dogs.

  9. Why did the lady that found the dogs not reach out more persistently? You can’t just call the number not reach someone and come back every day and check. She should have called the police department the sheriff or 911 and not gave up until she got someone out there that day. What a shame. That was precious time wasted that could’ve been used investigate the crime now most all evidence is gone or destroyed. This was a horrible act of animal cruelty and is a disgrace how it was dealt with concerning all parties involved.
