A foster home is urgently needed for a lovely German shepherd with a sad past. Not long ago, the dog, named Jackie, was found abandoned…left tied to a tree. Jackie has been saved from the cruel abandonment, but she is now desperately in need of a foster home.

Jackie is a special dog in more than one way…aside from being smart, obedient and cuddly, she has a condition known as Megaesophagus, which means that she has a hard time swallowing. Have no worries – Jackie’s condition is manageable and she even uses a special chair (Bailey chair) to eat which helps her get her food down easily.

Jackie is currently in the care of Northwest German Shepherd Rescue, but she needs a foster home – now. The rescue group has shared some information about Jackie’s special chair and a bit about her demeanor around dogs:

I need to do is sit in a vertical “highchair”, also called a Baliey Chair, twice a day for 20 minutes after my meals. I like my chair so much that sometimes I even fall asleep in it. While small dogs kind of freak me out, with slow introduction I can be ok with large dogs as long as they aren’t too bossy.

Jackie requires a cat-free home…this is mandatory because her prey drive is high. If you are interested in learning more about Jackie, click here to read her biography in full.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you need to do more than “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

  1. O PLEASE some kind patient person step up and help Jackie – her life has obviously not been one of love and she deserves a safe loving foster to show her not all people are cruel – you will never regret helping this beautiful dog.

  2. There was another dog that had this same diagnosis & is fed in the same high chair…..I wonder if they would be willing to take Jackie…..
