Update on senior Corgi surrendered to shelter half-wrapped in garbage bag

It was a day that tears flowed freely down the cheeks of volunteers and staff members alike, at Carson Animal Care when a ten-year-old Welsh Corgi was surrendered to the shelter half-wrapped in a black plastic garbage bag and carried in an old cardboard box. It was the worst day in Blackie’s life as her selfish owners refused financial assistance to help treat their dog who had an untreated, bloody tumor at the base of her tail. In fact, that was the reason they tied their dog of ten years in a garbage bag – so she would not bleed on the seat of their vehicle.

And when they arrived at the shelter, the family showed no regrets, no guilt and little compassion as they adamantly said no to any veterinarian advice or help. Yet, despite her family turning their backs on her when she needed them the most, Blackie remained happy as the staff removed the plastic garbage bag, cleaned her up and made her comfortable. It wasn’t long however before Blackie’s desperate plight garnered the attention of animal lovers everywhere.

On Monday, Blackie, accompanied by her rescuers Frosted Faces Foundation, made her freedom walk out of the shelter. She has been brushed, bathed, had her nails trimmed and ate a hearty meal of salmon and vegetables –  a spa treatment fit for royalty. She was laced into a new spring collar and told she was loved.

“Blackie is so small, wants to be held tightly and just wants everything to turn out okay because she keeps looking at us for recognition and approval,” Frosted Faces Foundation posted on their Facebook page as Blackie’s new life began. “We think she may know that being Frosted is a good thing by the say she struts.”

On Tuesday, Blackie is scheduled to be examined at High Valley Veterinary Hospital. Her tails really bothers her.

  1. Bless Frosted Faces Foundation, there are a few rescues that you can depend on for doing the right thing and they are one of them. So glad to hear they are helping this precious pup. Prayers for a better life for Blackie.

  2. So glad Frosted Faces rescued her. What a sweet little dog. Please everyone share on social media to help her find a loving furever home she deserves!

  3. Awww! How very precious she is! I’m extemely grateful to Frosted Faces for saving this beautiful sweet girl! I just love senior dogs. May God bless all of the people in this world who work tirelessly to save the mistreated and unwanted little souls who deserve to live a good life! Animal rescuers are TRUELY angels on earth! Good luck sweet girl, better days ahead❤️

  4. Thank you Frosted Faces & shame on the people that didn’t take care of her & gave up on her like she didn’t matter…..Karma is a “_______”……you will get yours….

  5. God bless Frosted Faces! Your life will truly begin now Blackie. You won’t be treated like garbage by worthless scumbag owners. They never deserved you. Making you live in pain and misery. They worried more about their car, a piece of metal and plastic. That says everything about them. Hope they don’t have children! If they have other animals they should be taken away!

      • Yes,
Always Greatful for a show of mercy.
he was not fully bagged with a cinder block tied to his neck.
Now that your eyes are wide open …
you too can celebrate this dog mercifuly delivered to those who will help.
        Now its your Positive spin

      • No, the positive spin on this is that Frosted Faces Foundation saved this dog, Contrary to what you say, there is NOTHING positive about wrapping your dog in a trash bag and dumping them at Carson Animal Care kill shelter!

      • Alive,
You forgot to mention happy and alive,
ruptured absess contained in plastic to stop the spread of infectious wast. while protecting the dog from further infection. and once again rescue,
        by frosted faces foundation.

yes that is exactally what I ment and said

    • It is nice to have a positive outlook, but the need for reality is greater. This dog was not taken care of when he needed help. Protecting the dog from FURTHER infection means you believe it was perfectly okay to be infected!!! Stopping the spread of infectious waste? So what do you think they were doing while the dog was at home? Ruptured absess – this is what you would want done if you had one…..just cover and no medical attention. Hope you have no pets or children.

      • No,
Dont pretend you know what I think and dont put words in my mouth .
and dont tilt the truth to suite your self because you like to hear your self bull shit all over your place.
        Remember bob…
        Reality Check…
I am not responsable for what the dog has been thru. im not responsable for any unhappyness. keep it in reality Bob. Nothing i said should let you believe it was ok to be infected.you dont have to worry about loved ones in my life Bob. I have Both feet Firmly on the ground as well as On this planet. I dont have to lie or make things up.Why dont you find something to do with your time Bob?
How would i know what the dog was doing at home while rupture absess bob?
How would you know? You need a healther out let for the too much time on your hands then calling out someone out on a reply from an observant commentator. In the mean time,
        Bob.
        mind your own bizz

  6. Thank you for taking little sweet Blackie in and caring for her. I cannot believe how evil people can be to allow something bad happen to their little animal and do absolutely nothing to help. Karma will find them. Now Blackie has a better happier and healthy life ahead of her. I am sending in my donation. Am I able to send doggy toys and treats too? ????❤????❤ I love you Blackie. Xoxo my doggy Louie loves you too. You have forever friends right here.

  7. Blackie your so sweet, I would take you in a heart beat, but I live in Iowa. I have a Welsh Corgi too, so blackie’s story is hard to hear..My car is trashed and is all Tess’s ( corgi).Lol.
