There is an update on Lady, the puppy at the heart of the Texarkana, Texas, dog abuse case. The pit bull pup, who was beaten in a graphic video which was posted on social media, has a broken leg but she is recovering “nicely.”
On Tuesday, the Texarkana Police Department announced that Lady “has been ordered seized pending the outcome of a court hearing later this month.” The Department added:
“Texarkana Texas Municipal Court Judge Sherry Jackson ordered the dog seized today and set a court hearing on November 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bi-State Criminal Justice Center. Judge Jackson will decide whether or not it is in the best interest of the dog to be permanently removed from the owner’s care.”
Lady is being treated for her injury at a local veterinary clinic and she expected to make a full recovery. The search for her abuser, 69-year-old LeGus Holloway, continues. A felony arrest warrant has been issued for Cruelty of non-livestock animals.
Texarkana CrimeStoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Holloway. Anonymous tips can be reported by calling 903-793-STOP.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you need to do more than “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”
