The Arrow Fund has released the condition of an abused puppy who suffered a horrific jaw fracture, believed to be the result of being kicked in the face. The Kentucky-based non-profit organization updated worried Facebook followers with the latest information about the abused puppy, who is being called “Banjo.”
The informational post reads:
The 1st picture is Banjo hours before surgery and the 2nd picture is of Banjo waking up after surgery which technically included several surgeries.
This morning we transported Banjo to Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Service. We put him in the care of Dr. Patrick Odenweller.
Banjo underwent several surgeries including a left mandibulectomy to remove a portion of dead bone near the fracture site and the right mandibular fracture was repaired with an intra oral acrylic splint and surgical wires. Banjo’s tongue was repaired and stitched and he also had his front left canine extracted because it was fractured.
The agency is hopeful that Banjo will be able to eat on his own soon – if he is not able to eat, a feeding tube will be utilized until his condition improves. According to The Arrow Fund, Banjo is a “sweetheart” despite his horrific injuries.

This little one will be fine, dogs are very good at bouncing back! I wish i could say there are no more or will be no more little ones who will need such help! Banjo will find the perfect forever home!
