15-year-old dog surrendered by family

In twilight of his life, 15-year-old dog surrendered by family

In the twilight of his life, a 15-year-old dog has found himself alone…held behind the bars of a lonely kennel run, with no familiar faces to provide him with comfort. The dog, named “Pepper,” has been at the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena, California, since January 7 – the day that his family left him behind.

On January 8, the volunteer-run Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Dogs, wrote:

Precious PEPPER is 15 and still in Shock after his family left him at the Shelter. He is a gentle, sweet soul and he needs help fast, the Shelter is FULL and he will not be comfortable in the kennel. HE CAN GO HOME TODAY!!

Pepper is understandably (and justifiably) confused and saddened by his current life circumstance. Right now, he has no one aside from strangers to provide him with hope for something better. Please help Pepper find his way out of the facility by taking a moment to network his adoption information.

If you are in LA County and can foster this dog, please take a moment to fill out an application at CarsonfosterS@gmail.com.

Please save Pepper. This is no way for his life to end. Alone, sad, confused and wanting his family back. Don’t let him be killed.

15 YEARS…. 15 years of devotion and unquestionable love, this babies entire life time. I’m sure he’s wondering what he did so horribly wrong to be abandoned by his humans, to have his life turned completely upside down like this. Is he wondering where they are? Is he wondering why he’s in that strange loud, cold, lonely place? His comfort, freedom, loved ones… his family, his humans… WHY? To be thrown away like last years trash, when you need your human(s) more then ever, during your elderly years is more then any decent persons mind can comprehend. What kind of person can do this? Do they have a heart? Compassion? Do they know what devotion is? This older gentleman needs our help now! We must be his voice, we must speak out, yell out for him! We can not waste any time, we can not allow days to pass by leaving him there all alone and confused. I truly believe there is a person, a family out there looking for a being to add to their family. Older dogs are settled, the puppy stage has passed. They’re content, enjoying the company of their humans, being loved on, giving you their love in return. They don’t ask for much… just companionship, tenderness, a comfy soft bed, walks in the park or down the block, car rides, tender pats on the head and lots of cuddle time. Lying next to you on the couch while watching TV or your reading a book, just being safe near you is all they ask for. Tell me…. is that asking for to much? PLEASE, reach out and save him, let his remaining days on earth be spent feeling your love, let him have his own family again. One that will be forever, until he crosses the bridge when it’s his time to cross. Don’t let him stay alone, scared, confused, feeling unloved and unwanted. He deserves so much more then that! Let’s work together on this… sometimes it takes a village to get things done. Let’s be that village!!!
