Bin bag dog thrown away like trash

Tragic end for ‘bin-bag’ dog who was thrown away like trash

There is no fairy-tale ending for an abandoned and severely injured dog who was thrown away like trash in a “bin bag” that had been tied closed. The six-year-old mixed breed dog was discovered on Tuesday on Dorset Road, Saltley, Birmingham, reported BBC News.

The discarded and wounded dog was transported to a veterinarian for care, but his wounds, which were infested with maggots, proved to be too severe and he was humanely euthanized on Wednesday. RSPCA Inspector Mike Scargill stated:

Quite simply, this poor dog was left to die, in a bin bag, alone at the side of a road.

He was dumped like a piece rubbish.

It is not acceptable to treat an animal in this way and I am sure that many people will be sickened to hear that someone did this to an innocent dog.

This dog suffered a great deal unnecessarily, and we are keen to find out who did this.

The RSPCA is seeking answers in this disturbing case of animal cruelty – anyone with information is asked to reach out to the animal welfare organization at  0300 123 8018.

He looks just like my old dog Otis. Did they really have to euthanize him because he was invested with maggots? Maggots eat dead flesh. We all have seen cases on this site where dogs in India have been infested with maggots and they vetted them successfully and survived. Why couldn’t this vet do the same? Because it was cheaper to have him PTS.

I agree with you….. Sadly the needle is cheaper than actual veterinary care……

Shame this little treasure was not given a chance to heal and be rehomed into a loving furever home where he would have been a beloved and treasured family member…..

People who fight dogs do this all the time. Make it a punishable crime and stop all the abuse of animals. Animals are living creatures and not property!
