On Monday morning, volunteers arrived at Abandoned Animal Rescue in Tomball, Texas to find a small black terrier had been thrown over the fence. Surveillance video shows a pickup truck going back and forth near the building and then stopping outside of the locked gate. A man can be seen getting out of the truck and walking to the other side. Moments later he returns to his truck, and as he pulls away, a small black dog appears. He was limping.
According to Abc13News, it is not known if the two-year-old dog had already been injured when the man threw him over the fence, or if the little guy slammed against the trailer. Either way, the 14-pound terrier suffered and it wasn’t until hours later when volunteers arrived at the rescue that the dog, now dubbed Jake was found. On the organization’s Facebook, they asked for help identifying the person who did this heinous deed:
“A dog was dumped at AAR on April 3rd at 5:40am. We usually do not mention when things like this happen but this particular dog has a broken ulna and dislocated radius and will be undergoing surgery tomorrow. We are not sure when his injury occurred, however from our footage it looks as though he could have hit our trailer when he was thrown over the fence.
The dog, now named Jake, is a black terrier, male, and he weighs 14 lbs. If you recognize the vehicle, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to donate to Jake‘s surgery, estimated cost is $2,500.”
On Wednesday, Jake underwent surgery at BluePearl Specialty Pet Hospital at Willowbrook. The dog is expected to make a full recovery. To help with his veterinary bills in order to help more dogs with serious needs, donations can be made by going to the organization’s website at aartomball.org and clicking on the donate button.
