Terrified: This is where Harvey sits just shaking and trembling

When a picture paints a thousand words, Harvey’s heartbreaking photo reminds all of us of the despair and terror dogs experience when brought into an animal shelter. This young male pup sits like this even as staffers enter his kennel cage to clean. He is clearly terrified!

What a tough young life Harvey must have experienced, and he’s barely a year old.  If only he could speak? His owner no longer wanted him and with barely a flourish of the man’s pen signing away his rights to his young dog, Harvey’s death sentence was signed. Can we help this dog find some love?

Click here for Harvey’s Pet Harbor adoption listing. “I am described as a female, white and black Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year old.
I have been at the shelter since Nov 03, 2017.” For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Baldwin Park at (626) 962-3577. Ask for information about animal ID number A5127115.

Harvey’s Facebook page can be followed here. Share this dog’s plight with approved organizations, family, friends and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

Recent update indicates the following:
“Kennel card says MALE but shelter website says FEMALE. If you can foster email [email protected] for information.”

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you need to do more than “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

  1. Conflicting info in your post, Cheryl!
This companion is AVA – a female!
Per PetHarbor (no longer listed, but from cached data) http://petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=LACO2.A5127115 :
    “This DOG – ID#A5127115
I am described as a female, white and black Pit Bull Terrier
The shelter thinks I am about 1 year old.
I have been at the shelter since Nov 03, 2017.”
The photo included in your article – enlarged – clearly shows her to be female!

    Thanks!

  2. What kind of person could do this to a young lovable animal..yeah I know POS! I know there’s some mix up about the dogs gender and name but that can be fixed after someone rescues Harvey. Please thetes got to be someone an adopter, foster or rescue that can go get this sweet terrified dog out of there before he is killed. Im in PA if I was closer to this dog I would go get him myself but please someone open your heart & home to save this terrified dog???????????????? shared with love & prayers.

  3. This picture breaks my heart. It also reminds me of another similar picture posted a number of years ago. That dog was rescued. I hope this pup is, too.

  4. Any updates on Harvey, I just read about her. I can’t give her a forever home due to having 3 cats already, but I can adopt her out of there and get her to a no-kill in Orange County.

  5. PLEASE PLEASE someone adopt him. He could become your best friend for life. I have been watching this webpage for days and I never imagined it could take this long for someone to step forward. This dog aches every second. I really wanted to adopt him but I live in New England and I don’t have the amount of money it would take to fly him here. Is there anything else I can do???

  6. Hasn’t someone come forward to Help? How long does Harvey have at your shelter? What about transporting him to a no-kill shelter??? Please, everyone, pray that someone who loves him will come and adopt him.
