In Greensboro, North Carolina, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office has charged two teenagers with animal cruelty for allegedly having burned a dog using a lighter and an aerosol spray can. When the teens posted the video to Snapchat, it quickly went viral showing one of the girls pointing to a dog in flames.
According to the Sacramento Bee, a 13-year-old and 14-year-old girl were involved with the evil deed; one of the girls shown in the video used the lighter to set the dog on fire while the other held the camera. The Snapchat caption read:
“…she burnt the dog.”
Bella, a chocolate Labrador Retriever, has been treated at Benessere Animal Hospital in Greensboro. Although her fur was burned, and she had paint on her tail, the dog was not seriously injured. The back of her fur was singed and melted. The mother of one of the teens stated her daughter made a stupid mistake, and although she deserved to be punished, she also deserved to be forgiven. FoxNews reports Bella will stay at the veterinarian hospital until she is ready to be adopted. That decision will be made by the attorney general’s office.
