An Alabama teenager is accused of walking up to a 52-year-old woman’s two leashed dogs and fatally shooting one of them. According to Wednesday’s Fox 10 News, the disturbing situation took place on Sunday evening in Fairhope.
The owner of the dogs told the police that she was in her yard with her two leashed dogs when she was approached by three juveniles. One of the boys allegedly had a shotgun which was used to shoot her dog – all of them ran after the fatal shot was fired.
Officers with the Fairhope Police Department responded to the scene and located three kids whose names are not being released because of their age. According to the Department, the juveniles involved are described as a 15-year-old black male, a 12-year-old black male and an 11-year-old black male.
The officers also located a rifle and a shotgun- both were stolen, but where they were stolen from has not yet been determined. The juveniles were all taken to the Baldwin County Juvenile Detention Center; the 15-year-old who allegedly killed the dog is facing a felony animal cruelty charge.
