A sweet old boy, estimated at eight years of age, has found himself locked away at the Los Angeles County Animal Control facility in Downey, California. The dog, dubbed Elmer, arrived at the facility on December 3, and today he remains alone…no family has come forward to take him away.
Elmer is a senior Labrador retriever – a breed known for their devotion to people, intelligence and friendly demeanor. Elmer has done nothing to deserve his current confinement – he did not choose to be without a family and a home, and he is relying on the kindness of strangers who will take a moment to network his information and help change his situation.
Please take a moment to share Elmer’s photos and adoption information – the time you take can make all the difference in this old boy’s life.

Is transport available to San Diego? That sweet boy has a home with me!
Nadya Wall-Rossi: There is a service called Freedom Train Animal Rescue Transports that is staffed by volunteers who will transport animals to safe locations – they can be reached on the internet at [email protected] – Please contact them to get Elmer and give this sweet senior a safe loving home for Christmas. You will never regret it.
My heart bleeds senior dogs, especially Labs (and even more specifically, YELLOW Labs!). I hope this sweet guy can find a home for Christmas. Senior dogs make great pets and I’m here to tell you that senior Labs are some of the best!
Please someone help him and give him a home for Christmas
Shared on FB. Labs are great dogs. I have an 11 year old female chocolate Lab. She was only eight weeks old when I brought her home. To this day she still plays like a puppy. I will be with her the day she crosses the rainbow bridge. This senior pup should have a loving home to live out his remaining years. Eight years old is not that old for a Lab. Labs tend to stay young forever!
Call the shelter Nadya, they could steer you towards a rescue that might help you.
How can anyone do this to Elmer ??? Hope he find a VERY KINDFUL HOME ❤❤❤❤Wwish you all luck ???????????????????? Big Hugs from Sweden ????????????
