A starved dog, trying to survive in the bitter cold, found the help that he desperately needed after he wandered up to a compassionate community outreach group in Nashville, Tennessee. The young pit bull mix was little more than skin and bones when he approached people who were preparing warming stations with The Little Pantry That Could.

On December 29, Nashville Pittie Rescue recounted how the starved dog managed to find help, in the nick of time:

As they were preparing their warming stations for this weekends single digit temperatures, our friends from The Little Pantry That Could had this very smart, extremely emaciated boy wander up to their doorstep! As he would NOT have survived the night out in the cold, we have agreed to take him in and he is currently on his way to Animal House. This starving baby has a long tough road ahead of him but we will be with him every single step of the way…

The dog is now safely out of harm’s way – anyone hoping to contribute towards his care can do so by phoning in a donation to Animal House at 615-834-6441 or via PayPal to the rescue organization’s Facebook page which can be accessed at this link.

  2. Truly a compassionate group! It doesn’t matter whether the being has 2 legs or 4 legs, if it needs food, it should be given food!
