A photo and short video went viral on Friday, causing a social media outrage about animal abuse as it showed a kangaroo joey being given beer. The video had allegedly been filmed in West Australia in the suburb of Carlisle.
According to the Au.News, the RSPCA stated the entire situation has been viewed as appalling and “not cool or funny.” Forcing animals to consume alcohol can easily cause harm and in some circumstances death. In a statement the animal advocacy group posted the following:
“The RSPCA WA is appalled to hear of another case of people treating wildlife in this way. It is certainly not cool or funny to treat defenseless wildlife like this. In fact it can cause unnecessary pain and suffering for the animals.”
This is a developing story, and more information is expected to become available in the near future. It is not known, at this time if the animal survived or has been reunited with its mother.
Leave wildlife alone!
Anyone with information is asked to call the RSPCA at 1300 278 3589 .

To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your having your favorites among those to “see first.”
