Showed up as bonded strays: Lenny and Louie begging to be rescued

Less than one week ago, Lenny and Louie showed up as strays together and have been inseparable ever since. They sleep together, eat together and seem to share in an affectionate bond when interacting. Both dogs have been described as extremely sweet; on Saturday they became available for adoption, however no one has stepped forward for either dog. Maybe the two escaped from their yard and went on a sightseeing tour before having been picked up as strays? If only their human would come and take them home where they belong.

  1. OMG !!! the worst place to be put into…. I know Chihuahua’s are the exterminated at a rate beyond belief there !!! I hope that someone will step up for them….

  2. These dogs must belong to someone who hopefully might want them back. They sought out human rescue, not strays, well fed and bonded as if raised together. Is any effort made to advertise to the public and seek out the owners before animals are put down? These two deserve that effort and rescue or foster if no one steps up. Please go the extra mile here!

  3. i hope that somebody will come and adopt these 2 Chihuahua’s by the same owner as when you are bonded in a early age and you separate them it will mean disaster consequences

  4. OMG! How sad! I so love Chihuahuas! They are not neutered and that pisses me off! Being unaltered is most likely why they are wondering around! Oh PLEASE DEAR GOD LET THEM BE RESCUED…..BOTH OF THEM!!!! Please keep us updated on these two! Wondering if there is a Chihuahua Rescue that would take them!

  5. These 2 little ones must not be seperated! Once dogs bond it becomes life long! If seperated one or both would literally die from broken hearts! They are beautiful little kids they need to be neutered and given their shots but then they are ready for their new home! If i was out there i would take them in a minute!

    • I would too ,,I fear for them as California is totally flooded with stray Chihuahua’s and this shelter does not go out of their way to find homes. and being intact is also not going to help… they are both so young and YES they need a home together… they are small and they would get along well with the dachshunds… California won’t work with out of state people at all
