The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) is seeking information from the public after finding two German shepherds discarded in suspicious manners within a close proximity of time. According to the shelter, a dog’s body was found on Sunday, February 26, on the 1st Line EHS, north of Highway 89 in Mulmur Township.

The dog is described as black and dark tan in color – a brown towel was partially beneath the dog’s body. The body of the German shepherd “type” dog was so badly decomposed that a gender determination could not be made. There was no microchip, or collar, on the dog’s body.

According to Orangeville.com, another German shepherd was found in a ditch in Erin on February 25 – that dog, a female, was wrapped in garbage bags. Like the dog found in Mulmur, there was no identification on the deceased dog’s body.

“Our investigation at this time is to find out if this was an act of animal cruelty,” says Alison Green, Senior Inspector, Ontario SPCA. “We are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything unusual in that area to come forward.” The Ontario SPCA has requested that any helpful information be called in to 310-SPCA (7722) immediately.

  1. Definitely suspicious. Still a lot of information missing from the post above. Finding the person or people behind these deaths will be difficult.

  2. These 2 cases have to be related, they are both same type of dog in the same vicinity and both badly decomposed! I don’t ask the standard questions anymore! The questions and the answers are meaningless! All I care about at this point are there other dogs or other animals involved and. If so where are they?
