Severely injured puppy abandoned at elementary school

This week, a severely injured puppy was abandoned at Monterrey Elementary School in San Bernardino, California. The puppy, dubbed “Chance,” was picked up by a good Samaritan and taken to the city pound. Before Chance could be taken in, a woman who volunteers from time to time with the Poochmatch rescue agency, intercepted him.

Chance was taken to Dr. Sig at Loma Linda Animal Hospital for an exam – the findings are nothing short of heartbreaking. According to Dr. Sig, Chance has a badly infected broken jaw and it appears that someone poured battery acid on his face.

The rescue group updated Facebook followers:

Chance, after his final examination, with the immeasurably kind and compassionate Sedna from LLAH. He had to be anesthetized because he was in so much pain he couldn’t allow anyone to examine him. First Chance has to recover from his infection, then he will have an orthopedic surgery done to insert a plate in his jaw, to aid it in healing correctly. He has a long diet of wet food ahead of him. The infection has spread and he most likely will lose his right eye. Dr. Sig said that while the battery acid may have been accidental – so-called “outdoor dogs” playing with things they shouldn’t (and wouldn’t if they were inside) – there is NO question that a twisted human broke his jaw as the break is too high to be accidental.

It goes without saying that Chance has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and his rescuers will be faced with tremendous veterinary bills. Anyone interested in helping Chance with his bills can make a donation at this link to the rescue group.

Simply horrible! What could this poor young pup have done to have anyone hurt him like this. You don’t want the dog, take to the shelter and say you found it, but to do this is beyond criminal and that person must be caught and put away for a long time. Pray that he heals quickly.

I hope this Cretan is found and shown what a broken jaw feels like. Then introduce him to a firing squad. These low life, sub humans need cleaned out. Too much clean wasted on them.

What is going on with all the abuse of these poor innocent puppies! it’s becoming an epidemic! We need tougher laws and harsher penalties if this is ever going to stop. Prayers for little Chance, it breaks my heart someone could do this to you.

Whoever did this to Chance is pure evil and deserves no less than what was done to this helpless puppy. Only cowards could hurt a defenseless puppy that can’t protect itself. Frankly, I would like drop these sub-humans in the middle of the wilderness with a pack of hungry wolves.

Thank you to this woman who saved this puppy! This baby has a very long road ahead and it’s going to be painful and costly but they are worth all!

  7. SLV says:

What kind of monster would do this to an innocent puppy. I honestly would turn my back and not say a word if the same was done to the POS who did this to Chance. Karma!!!!!!!!

  8. Nancy Raymond says:

Whoever did this to Chance should be nailed to a tree and used as target practice – I hope this poor puppy recovers from this horrific abuse – there are people who should be killed at birth and this bastard qualifies.
