Sad dog waiting for person who isn't coming

A dog named “Buddy,” is waiting at the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter (Wantagh, New York) for a person who isn’t ever going to arrive…the two-and-a-half-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix looks longingly from behind the bars of his kennel run for any sign of a familiar face, but each day, he fails to find what he so desperately wants to see.

On the Facebook page which was created to help find Buddy a home, information was shared about the sad dog:

Every day Buddy looks to see if anyone is coming for him. It’s heartbreaking to see a loving dog without a person or family to love. 💔 Still a youngster at 2 1/2 years old, Buddy craves affection and a good game of fetch.

Buddy is a big boy with lots of energy so would do best with an active experienced owner.

  1. Quel bébé candide, il ne demande qu’à aimer, lui trouver une vraie famille serait le paradis pour cette âme innocente. Vite, s’il vous plaît. MERCI pour lui.

  2. How sad to be 2 1/2 years old and nobody wants you! I have shared and will keep Buddy in my prayers he finds a loving home.

    • Barkley’s Mom I know poor Buddy has been shared and shared again numerous times. He was adopted for a short time, but, brought back. I saved his post and shared many times. I haven’t stopped thinking about him.

      • That is so sad, he looks like such a sweet dog, you would think someone would want him. If I didn’t have 4 of my own right now I’d make the trip to Wantagh and get him myself. Hoping our sharing works this time.

  3. I have two right now. And they are very needy of our attention. Otherwise, I would scoop him up in a second! Good luck Buddy. I am praying for you to find your forever home. <3

  4. Buddy is such a beautiful boy! He’s got so much to offer the right person! The fact that he looks at everyone who comes in is a sign of intelligence! He’s a young man who with a little help from the right family will become a flawless diamond! Buddy in you I bestow kisses and my protection! Not to worry Buddy will find his forever home soon!

    • I certainly hope that Buddy’s previous owner(s) truly loved this boy enough to at least claim him and then try to find him a REALLY loving forever home! He deserves the best!!!!~!

      • Having now read all about dear Buddy, I realize that the previous owner would not be claiming this sweet dog, so I beg interested dog owners to please consider this great dog as a new pet! I have 10 CATS so he would not be happy in my house! I would be happy to contribute some money towards his care. Pm me. Shared.

    • Sheri he was adopted a month ago, but, brought back. He still needs a home. This post along with updated ones has been shared numerous times.

  6. Heartbreaking video. He wants his family – they probably treated him like a POS but they’re all he knew and he loved them.
