Update: Anca has been found and reunited with her owner!

A German shepherd, who retired from her military duties back in 2012, is missing in Sylmar, California. According to ABC 7 News, the dog, who was trained to detect explosives, managed to escape from her owner’s fenced yard last Tuesday and she has not been seen since.

The dog, named “Anca,” belongs to Anthony Aguirre, a retired Marine. Aguirre did two tours of duty with Anca and then he adopted her after she retired from her military duties.
