Looking for a new dog? Considering an adorable French Bulldog? You might be in luck if you live near Denver, Colorado. This Saturday, two dozen Frenchies will be made available for adoption at the Denver Animal Shelter.

The dogs were rescued during an investigation and they have now been released to the shelter’s custody. As of Saturday, the adorable pooches will be ready to join their new homes. On Tuesday, the shelter alerted its Facebook followers about Saturday’s adoption opportunity:

After a special investigation* by Animal Protection Officers in partnership with Denver Police, two dozen French Bulldogs were released to our care. Here are just a few of the Frenchie’s that were rescued! Come by the shelter this Saturday for your chance to adopt a rescued Frenchie!

According to the shelter, all of the questions about what happened before the dogs came to the shelter cannot be answered because the investigation is ongoing. The shelter stated, “Many of the animals were in dire need of proper medical care, and shelter staff members have worked very hard to heal these animals inside and out.”

The shelter added:

It was determined by Denver Police Department and Denver Animal Protection staff that, in this case, it was absolutely in the best interest of the animals that they be removed from the residence, provided immediately with necessary medical care, and placed with those better able to care for them.

*Denver Animal Shelter and Denver Animal Protection staff are committed to providing humane care to companion animals; reuniting lost pets with their owners; adopting pets to loving homes; enforcing Denver County animal ordinances; and proactively educating the public about animals and their needs.
