In Palatka, Florida an 8-month-old puppy left tied to a tree for months as he suffered with a “horrific” neck injury was turned over to a rescue group on Wednesday. Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR) picked up the puppy dubbed Bud from the Putnam County Animal Control after the dog was found at a residence where he had been left to suffer for months.

According to the First Coast News, the puppy had been in excruciating pain for an extended period of time. Mike Merrill, the founder of the rescue organization, stated he thinks the puppy had been crying out in pain and the owner had wrapped wire around the dog’s snout to keep him quiet. Merrill said this has been the worst case of animal cruelty he has ever seen.

Bud will be undergoing surgery at the Shelter Medicine Program at the University of Florida where he will stay for a few days. The university has an ongoing partnership with several local rescues and will be doing the dog’s surgery without any cost to FUR.

“Fortunately, Bud is a sweet boy who loves being showered with affection and giving kisses, so he’s going to be alright,” Mike stated.

Bud is expected to be available for adoption in the near future. To help this organization with the expenses Bud will continue to incur until he is fully healed, donations can be made by clicking here.

No information has been made available if the puppy’s owner has been charged with animal cruelty or neglect.

Get well soon Bud.

  1. I am FERVENTLY HOPING that the “sadistic piece of crap, the lowlife, the vermin, the degenerate, the scum of the earth” (this is my polite vocabulary) that did this to this Puppy suffers the most debilitating, painful disease known to mankind. May this person be struck down “sooner rather than later”……

  2. Who lived in this residence where this poor little guy was found? These hunks of maggot shit should be sitting in jail with NO BAIL – this is despicable – whoever did this should be sitting on death row – there is nothing lower than an animal abuser – spineless, cowards who have no right to breathe. Bud deserves a safe loving home and I pray he gets one ASAP.

  3. So glad he was found !!!! and the owner I hope will be in jail for a Long time !!!! whish you a God renovering baby Bud ???????????????????? And I hope you get a wonderful foreverhome ! you really nedåt it ❤❤❤❤ Big Hugs from Sweden ????????????????????

  4. Tie the disgusting turds to a tree and tape their mouths so they can’t cry out. Leave the bastards tie up for months as they did to the young pup, Bud.

  5. And what happened to the monster who left him suffering for months????? PLEASE TELL US HE IS locked up somewhere and will NEVER BE ALLOWED to own or live in the same home as another pet!

  6. This poor puppy’s owners need to be publicly named and arrested at once! They deserved to be given the same treatment they wreaked on this innocent victim! I would give them a life sentence or death if it was up to me!
