Check out little Elmo hiding in the bushes in an isolated area of Houston, Texas. He’s little more than a puppy, but he was thrown away and disposed  of haphazardly – just like trash. No one knows where he came from;  no one asked and even if he was noticed, no one seemed to care.Elmo, however was lucky; a rescuer had been alerted to his plight and animal advocate, Leslie Ysuhuaylas helped to find him over the Memorial Day weekend. And there he was; hiding in the woods behind the deep brush; shivering from fright and trying desperately to stay warm. Needless to say, he had no food or water. What does a puppy know about surviving on his own?

“Elmo is only a baby already learning the cruelty of our society,” stated Stacey Silverstein, the co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, who volunteered to accept Elmo into their organization once he was caught. “Don’t turn away … don’t avoid this post …. Instead educate and understand that Elmo is just one of the thousands upon thousands of companion animals across this country treated like disposable garbage.”

Elmo is now on his  way to Rescue Dogs Rock NYC partner veterinarian where he will receive the medical attention he so desperately needs. At this time, the puppy’s physical and emotional condition is unknown, however he is safe now and his life has changed forever.

To help Elmo, donate to his medical care. He will need blood work, radiographs and skin scrapes at the very least. Donate:

  1. Mange isn’t like leukemia !!!! it is easily treated and cured !!! BUT IN THAT GOOD OLE “NO STAR STATE” it is easier to toss , maim, torture, starve, beat, choke, hang, drown, a poor little pup than to seek help for it… The population there gets worse with the daily Moronic < NO make that HOURLY increase of MORONIC SYNDROME !!! YOU good OLE boys can't put the whole blame on "ILLEGALS""…. AGAIN NYROCKS TO THE RESCUE!!!!

  2. Poor baby, I’m glad he is in the custody of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC. Again they have stepped up for this unfortunate pup.

  3. Elmo is going to get the best care. I hope he rallies quickly with the right TLC and gets his happy ending. Bless his little heart.

  4. This quote comes to mind sadly

The awful wrongs and sufferings forced upon the innocent, helpless, faithful animal race form the blackest chapter in the whole world’s history. – Edward Freeman (English Historian and Commentator)

Thank you Leslie Ysuhuaylas in finding Elmo and
RDRNYC for taking care of Elmo????????

  5. Once again Texas proves its lack of concern for animals dumped by your uncaring citizens – and if Rescue Dogs Rock NYC had not come through for Elmo I am sure he would be dead. Largest state in the union with the smallest heart.

    • This IS definitely THE NO STAR STATE!!! NOW we see an ever increasing amount of TEXAS license plates in our STATE so like I told my husband WE can START looking for abuse ISSUES HERE SHORTLY!!!

  6. you guys are a God send people that truly rescue animals from the Devil’s trap and it always breaks my heart when animals suffer from careless abusers. They will be judged!!!!
