Puppy with fractured skull found on sidewalk

A puppy, just six months of age, is recovering after being found with a fractured skull on a Philadelphia sidewalk. On Sunday, the pit bull pup, dubbed Josie, was taken to the Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia.

On Monday, the Facebook page, Chester County Dog Tails, wrote about the puppy’s horrific injuries:

OH MY DEAR GOD!💔 Village, we need lots of prayers for Josephina! 6-month-old puppy Josie was found on the sidewalk with a fractured skull from blunt force trauma in countless places. She has made it through the night, but is in critical condition. Each breath Josie takes causes the frontal bones of her skull to rise and fall… there is nothing separating her sinuses anymore. The front of her beautiful face is shattered, and her brain is actually exposed in one place. This so absolutely heart shattering. Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary saved her from ACCT, and they are trying to save her.

Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary updated its followers about the grievously injured puppy:

Josie is currently at VSEC Philadelphia emergency animal hospital located in Philadelphia fighting for her life. For those of you following her story you know she was found on the side walk with blunt force trauma to her head. Her skull is severely fractured in multiple places. We have the entire team at VSEC working hard to make sure this girl has the best chance at life. We love you Josie and we know you can make it💕

Donations are being accepted for Josie’s ongoing veterinary care. Donations can be made in a multitude of ways.

Did you know that if you want to get updates from a Facebook page, you need to do more than “like” it? To get recent postings in your Facebook feed, you must also hover your mouse over the word “following” and then click “see first” from the drop-down menu. You may want to check back with your favorite pages on occasion because Facebook often changes your settings, no longer having your favorites among those to “see first.”

Deformed dog or not? Strange photo is driving people crazy! I’ll admit, this one took me awhile to figure out.

  1. OMG, when is this ever gonna end…..what is wrong with people? These precious babies need love & care….what could Josie had ever done to deserve this…..NOTHING IS THE ANSWER…..I pray you catch this monster & punish him or her to the fullest extent of the law….

    • She didnt do a d** thing. She is just a baby herself.I hope to God they find the piece of crap that did this to her. Hang in there baby girl, you are so much stronger an way better than your abuser

  2. Does anyone think this was done to this dog because she is a pit bull? I keep feeling that pit bulls whether they are puppies or full grown are getting the worst of society because there are so much ignorance and hatred about this breed or is it just POS people walking on this earth out to injure any poor defenseless animal(s)??? I have known some pit bulls and have found them to be very sweet and loving dogs.

  3. Disgusting turd doesn’t deserve to live. I would take a bat and break every bone in this low life’s body. I pray for Josie’s recovery. Poor pup must have suffered for some time before she was found. I hope she makes it.

  4. Another case of a spineless coward who picks on weaker helpless beings who cannot defend themselves – there are some subhuman maggots who do not deserve to live. All animal abusers are inbreds who should have been aborted at conception.
