Puppy found abandoned in Texas ditch

An adorable puppy, with adorable “white-socks” feet, was found abandoned in a Texas ditch. Fortunately, a volunteer with the Forgotten Pet Advocates happened upon the discarded puppy and she was whisked away to safety.

Today, the pup, dubbed “Makana,” is waiting at a Houston area boarding kennel for someone to notice her. In March, the Forgotten Pet Advocates outlined Makana’s many attributes:

She is potty trained, she is crate trained she knows how to sit and she loves everybody! Makana does well with kids and other dogs. Makana is so smart and eager to learn new things.

Makana is a beautiful pup (believed to be a Basenji mix) who would make an excellent companion to some lucky person. You can help Makana leave the boarding facility and find her way to a loving home by taking a moment to share her adoption information.

She is indeed a pretty little one… I see SO VERY MUCH abuse and torture in the whole state of TEXAS …. I would be damned if I would be able to trust anyone too much without lots of investigation into their background before letting her go with them…. too bad she isn’t in Wyoming …

I would like to know what your source is. I’ve lived in Texas all my life (81 years), and can say with certainity that we love our dogs in Texas. If you know of problems in Bryan/College Station, please let me know. This is the home of Texas A&M, and we have an outstanding Veterenary School. We do not tolerate cruelty to animals.
