On Sunday, Lulu was surrendered to the Miami-Dade Animal Services; it didn’t matter that she shook with fright as the only family the five-year-old Rottweiler knew handed her over to shelter personnel.  When a volunteer approached her to momentarily soothe Lulu, the dog’s reaction was not surprising and very sad:

“This little girl was turned in by her owner and is so scared, she was extremely cautious of me, she looked and looked, but never came near me. I threw her treats and she ate them, after I left. Ugh…”

On the Facebook page, Urgent Dogs of Miami, her tragic story has been shared more than 4,300 times with hundreds and hundreds of comments – still no one has come to her rescue. Now she sits in the corner of her kennel shaking with her head down. Who can imagine the heartache she must be feeling as she realizes she has been abandoned? Volunteers tried to lift her spirits and tried to cheer her up, but she barely reacts. Share Lulu’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

Please help by pledging for her rescue here and networking her story. The only hope she has is us! Miami Dade Animal Services is located at 3599 NW 79th Ave in Doral, FL.  Additional information is available here. When making inquiries about this dog, refer to A1824040.

  1. Pauvre amour, si personne ne l’adopte, elle va se laisser mourir. J’ai le coeur brisé de la voire si désespérée. Vite une vraie famille pour cet ange triste. Merci.

  2. How nice of them to throw her a blanket the size of a face cloth to comfort her.
Or was she suppose to dry her tears with it?

  3. I am Sad that these Home owner of these Dogs just don’t get it. Dogs are Family. You don’t turn them to any Shelter, Period. Karma will get you in the End. Just look at the Face on this Dog.

    • It’s common sence when you get an animal it takes a lot of time ,money and giving them attention. Humans are just getting stupider. They don’t seem o realise that animals do have feelings . This poor dog is suffering from abandonment ,period !

    • Often many people turn their dog into a shelter because they don’t have the money to feed it or pay for vet bills that are required when an animal appears injured. Then it is necessary and very important to get help!! Dont say never turn a pet over…so many pets are severely malnourished, injured and neglected 12 hrs a day tied to a tree on a heavy short chain… and there are many no kill shelters…find one of those. Or call the ASPCA for help!

  4. Everyday I see where just turn over their pets to kill shelter. And I have to wonder why. What goes thru these people mind. It’s heart breaking for them. Why can’t these people find a no kill shelter. Sharing withove and prayers for him to find a good loving caring home.

  5. OMG! This poor precious dog,how I wish I could take her into my home! She is a beautiful treasure and like all dogs deserves a loving safe home! I do not know how to share her plight with the rescues out there and need to find someone to show me. Praying for this stunning fur baby to be saved!

  6. How can ANYBODY do this to an animal that has been with them for so long? I truly hope these HUMANS have children that dump them off at an old folks home when they get too old and not wanted anymore. Seems only right for them to be treated the way they have treated this dog. God only knows how much i hate HUMANS

    • So sorry Pamela you hate “humans”…not all are bad. I have known people that have tried to advertise to find a home for their pet when they were at dire straights and couldn’t even pay their bills anymore or feed their family… I have also seen people that were perhaps in that situation just dump the dog off on the side of the road and they starve or get run over. You don’t know these people story, and don’t assume you do. Just pray that this dog finds a loving home and is loved/rescued. Not all humans would do this… also would you prefer an animal severely suffer in pain, starvation, or other plight, when perhaps euthanasia would be more humane? As a very last resort of course always!!

  7. Sharing, praying and pledging $50.00 for Lulu’s rescue. Come on Miami people–surely some family there can make her a part of their family. If there was a way I could, I certainly would. (Too old and too far away…..).

  8. What assholes!!!! I wish those assholes would change the roll and put their dumb asses in there. Please help her find a Loving home!!!

  9. Feeling unwanted unloved betrayed how Terrible I’m so sorry baby you did nothing wrong sweet innocent I am praying kind loving and patient human being will love you straight out of this mess ????????????❤️

  10. IS there A “ROTWELLER” RESCUE DOWN THERE CLOSE THAT WOULD TAT A CHANCE ON HELPING>>>>>> This girl is so young!!!!

  11. This breaks my heart, bastards. I am in Canada and can’t save her because I would. My rottie died in my arms, I have no idea how anyone can be so HEARTLESS and SELFISH.
oh little girl, try to hold your head high, I’m sending you love and luck there is a saviour where you are!

  12. I can take her. Ive had rotties before, they are amazing dogs. My big boy Bo died in my arms at 16 almost 5 years ago and i need to share my home again. I live in show low, az. Is there a way to get her here?

    • are you kidding me?
your intrested in adopting a dog in need and one sits shaking at a kill shelter? Why not call the shelter and ask who can help with transport. If its not too late and her time is not up. Let us know the status of her availability. I hope she is alive to be rescued. God speed Deb P. The country is not that big anymore. You live in AZ.,
      USA not Amsterdam.

      If your, for realzies !!
Get up and get busy. Your true love faces lonelyness and despair and shakes in fear. and you sit alone longing for a dogs true love and comfort.
Sounds like a match made in heaven.

But Deb P. The original post was May 9th 2017.
Today is june 7th 2017. How long should she be punished for her being so unlucky to be owned as a pup then abandoned by hartless humans? and she has to die a cruel terrifying death because you spent a month waiting for someone to do it for you? Pick up the phone and tell them you need lu lu and ask for help in getting her home to Az. Keep us posted. We care about you Both. But time is not on lu lus side, And she prays for deliverance.can you hear her pityfull crys? I sure can. She thinks its because she was a bad girl, she was led to believe that .
she is not a bad girl.
      Get her outta there Deb.

    • Debbie try this

    • Have you thought of contacting the Local Newspaper, or a Nation Wide trucking Association based in Miami … My husband drove over the road for years and a couple of time he hauled a little 4 legged passenger to a new home hundred of miles away… no charge… also there are volunteer pilots that do this across country as a rescue group… type in to the search… I know they have pilots in Denver Colorado who do this… sorry this is the only way I know to try and help you…

  13. Someone needs to let the world know how LuLu is. Just so the readers know, I adopted a bull-mastiff in South Carolina and a volunteer put him in his car and drove him to Oklahoma for me. He wouldn’t even let me pay for his trip.

  14. There should be a law that people who abandoned dogs at kill shelters should NEVER be allowed to EVER own a dog again! It is so incredibly unfair and heartless for someone to do this to a helpless, trusting animal!

  15. You really shouldn’t shame people who bring their dogs to the shelter. As much as I wish it didn’t happen and as sad as it is to hear how awful it is for the dog, shaming people gives them another reason to just abandon their dogs on the street. Its completely counter productive

    • What’s your country’s secreat!? Help us
give us a link to speak to someone , a shelter in your area or an animal rights community, we here in the states have had it with our culture of killing companion animals. We are tired of hoping and praying and the anguish of monitoring companion pets, as the count down to their terrible and terrifying euthanasia.
      Help us please!!!

      • Ellen, hello an interesting history of no-killer shelters under wikia pedia…they may not be completely true to form, but, an interesting history.

      • i am on it linda, thanks!!
its about time sombody started explaining this to me. it’d about time I begin to start getting annoying to somebody in person. my issue is not with shelters, its with killing animals when they can start to use all animals as specific trained aids.
I’m going to so get to the bottom of this. it all seems a result of not utilizing the free and easy technology at hand. I think some sitting authority has to get the hell out of the way and hire some this centuries and develop a universal data base and id chipping and using extra corporate cargo and transporting animals instead of putting all of us thru this waste of precious life.

  16. Ellen has the right idea!! There are dogs working with the police in some cities, pitbulls that were on death row. They took these dogs and trained them and they are doing wonderful!!!!! The dogs look so distinguished and proud!!! When I saw the pictures I was ecstatic and don’t understand why this isnt happening more. So many more dogs could be saved!!!! This needs to start happening more and everywhere. These dogs look healthy, happy, and they look proud and distinguished. It is awesome!!! And would have been dead otherwise. Something has to be done. My heart breaks looking at all these beautiful healthy sweet dogs that get killed every day in the u.s. We should be ashamed as a society to have let it get so bad. It is our fault, not the dogs. And I wish people would stop posting pictures of their dogs with litters of puppies. I’m sorry but it makes me sick. Anyone who lets their dog accidently or on purpose bring more puppies into this world with all these innocent animals being killed everyday a complete f_ _ _king idiot, and certainly isn’t an animal lover. Please spay and neuter your pets. And vets, please make it affordable to do so!!
