Tippi, or shall I say, Princess Tippi, is an adorable dog who has found herself on death row. In fact, this four-year-old dog, who is being held at the New York Animal Care and Control facility in Brooklyn, is on the “to be destroyed” list for August 14.
A shelter volunteer shared some insight about this homeless death row dog:
Oh my love bug Tippi, you are so small and stubby, gray and white, my favorite two colors on a dog. You surprise me every day, I mean that in a good way, when I first met Tippi, she was very stand offish and when I would approach her kennel, she would start barking. As a couple of days passed by, Tippi started to come to the front of her kennel and would have a loose, wiggly body and a wagging tail. When I finally decided to take his beautiful girl out, she walked so gracefully, as if she knew she was a princess. Once inside the play yard, Tippi stood right beside me and followed me everywhere I went, it was the cutest thing. She likes to get her rubbies and butt scratchies, she smiles with every touch.
The clock is ticking and Tippi needs help if she is to survive. Tippi deserves a home – she deserves to be loved. According to shelter notes, she is agreeable with other dogs – in fact, she has been utilized as a “greeter dog.”
