On October 1, an incredibly touching video of a pony hugging a man, was posted on social media. In short order, the video went “viral” when people viewed, and then shared, the beautiful clip.
The explanation behind the moving video is enough to give even people with a heart of stone reason to shed a tear. In a Facebook post, Natasha Ward Hance explained:
We rescued this sweet little guy and another full size Wednesday hours from being shipped to Mexico with a poor outlook.
He arrived at our house Friday with green goo coming from his nose and eyes and looked pitiful. We kept them in clean stalls with lots of fresh food and water and started them on antibiotics (we were told they had both already been on antibiotics but we want to be sure) and wanted to give them at least a full day to rest and chill before we let them in the pasture. The video is at the end of the day on Sunday after his first full day in the pasture with the goats and his buddy that he was rescued with.
The pony, dubbed “Tobias,” embraced Natasha’s husband, Kirk, for upwards of three minutes. In an interview with the Dodo, Kirk explained what happened:
“He came up to me, and what started as me just petting him softly and reassuring him it was OK, turned into a full embrace. I just sat there for a few minutes holding him. He seemed to relax and almost fell asleep as if he knew he was safe.”
Tobias and another paint mare were rescued from the horse auction…now there is no fear of being sent to auction. Now there is only unconditional love and sweet freedom.
