Senior dog brought to shelter in a shopping bag

Pitiful – senior dog brought to shelter in shopping bag, now sits in isolation

A senior dog named Beatrice has been dealt a bad card of hands in her senior years. The dog, estimated at 10 years of age, was brought in a shopping bag to the Los Angeles Animal Services – Harbor Shelter on June 10.

Fast forward two weeks – Beatrice is still at the facility, and still alone. Adding insult to injury, Beatrice is not even in public view at the shelter. The ARF Harbor Shelter Facebook page explains:

Meet Beatrice! Our beautiful Beatrice will break your heart in two – she was brought to the shelter in a shopping bag after having been left on someone’s porch. She’s elegant and long-limbed, and though her back legs are a little weak she can still walk. Beatrice is kept in ISO where no one can see her because she’s geriatric.

Adding:

She’s pure sweetness, and ever so gentle, and she deserves better. Please open your home and heart to Beatrice.

Do you need a quiet friend? Please consider adding Beatrice to your family. If not, please take a moment to share her adoption information and help her find somewhere safe and loving to go.

I look at that sweet face and I am crying.

She deserves to be a treasured family member….. I wish she could be in Northern California as part of our family for however long she has……..

If she still needs a home, we can foster her.

Our precious MacKitty is fighting for his life and he could use a cuddly friend……. After he passes, we could adopt her……

Whats wrong with being geriatric? They need to be seen to. Some people would prefer older, senior dogs. You need to put her out where she can be seen if you want to give her a chance at a home. it is unfair to her to keep her hidden. Would take her in a heartbeat but I am on the other side of the country, literally. Let the public know she is there………..
