Update 6/28/17: Rocky has been adopted!
Any dog left by their family at a busy animal control agency experiences fear, confusion and sadness – imagine for a moment the added confusion and terror which is experienced when the dog is blind. On Saturday, a 10-month-old puppy who is blind was taken to the Carson Animal Services facility in Gardena, California – his family told the staff that they didn’t want a blind dog.
Now the pup, whose name is Rocky, is stuck in his kennel run – alone and terrified. A brief video clip shows Rocky’s fear…he is frozen in one place, drooling and scared.
Rocky could use a hero right now – he was let down and betrayed by his family and now he is utterly alone. Please share Rocky’s adoption information and help him find a loving and loyal new owner.

I wonder what these maggots would do with a person who became blind?!? I had a blind dog and now I have a deaf dog. These ‘other abled” pets have so much to give if only we take the time to look. Maggots like those who dumped this dog are pathetic excuses for human beings for they know NOTHING about being human and as such do not qualify as human beings; they are nothing more than putrid, rabid maggots.
Gizmos Mommy, Those could be my words. I love and adore my disabled dogs. They have something so special and i learn how to help them I now do natural cure for cataracts ( tried it on myself first) and do other fixes that work most times. Sooooo gratifying. The putrid, rabid maggots are missing out on the purest love and devotion imaginable.
What are you using for cataracts? My oldest boy, JoJo has a cataract in his right eye.
Ignorant fucking idiots. I wish I could appear at every shelter everywhere when an ignorant piece of shit drops off their animal. I would make that persons day a living hell.
My deaf girl, Ran, had been dumped at just three months old at a rescue (luckily no-kill and very good) because her first “family” had it confirmed by the vet that she was deaf. I drove nearly ten hours round-trip to adopt her. The next 5+ years were amazing and most people had no idea she was deaf. I miss her so much – she passed at just short of 5-1/2 years from an autoimmune disorder. I can’t even imagine having a special needs pet and then dumping them at a shelter. ALL furbabies are precious, and the “special” ones even more so. I hope the family rots in h*** and that this precious dog finds the perfect loving home.
I’m so sorry for your loss of your other abled baby girl. I hope the wonderful memories keep her alive in your heart. My little deaf girl was so abused she also has brain damage. Poppy has made great progress in spite of her limitations. These special needs pets have so much to give. So much joy in each new day.
Sure hope no one is that family ever goes blind – they will “””LOVE”””” being dumped at a shelter!!
So Rocky is blind and they HAD to dump him at the shelter. Why is that, blind dogs are able to function quite well, they just need a little more attention to keep them safe. Shame on the owners!
So glad to see Rocky has found a new, loving home!
This is TERRIBLE!!!! Those owners need to be stuck in a cage for a very long time!!!!
I agree but it is too merciful a punishment for what they did! I hope they do not have children or seniors dependent on them!
🙁
They didn’t know he was blind? So what if he is. Prayers going out to Rocky for finding a forever, loving home.
Beautiful boy!!Sending prayers for a REAL FUREVER HOME & FAMILY FOR YOU!
ROCKY MATTERS????
It should not come as a surprise that this little one was left at this shelter for no other reason except for the fact he cant see! Oh my what a terrible imposition! Give me a break! Somewhere some how karma will visit these scum and when she is done with these humans they will be the ones crying! I would love to adopt this very special little man! Please adopt, foster or sponser this little dude!

Heartless people dumped him at this shelter, but it was a blessing in disguise for Rocky! So glad Rocky was adopted quickly and hope his future is bright now!
