The often heard phrase, “Aw come on lady – have a heart” echoed through the reception area at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center in Baldwin Park, California. “Chiquis” – just two years old and born without front legs, was surrendered on December 21; just days before Christmas by her owner. The tiny Chi – weighing barely seven pounds was timid, but allowed the rescue volunteer to hold her and reassure this little one – life will get better.

  1. Bless this little doggie, who cam into the world with a handicap, and let us all hope soon will be with a loving caing loved one, and a forever home!

  2. Doesn’t say how long the owner had this dog, but how could you just bring this poor dog and dump it off at the shelter like this? I pray some rescue takes this tiny Chi and it joins a loving forever home.

  3. I would take her in a heartbeat. We have a network of veterinarians, including rehabilitation specialists who have helped us BIG time with our treasured MacKitty (& who would help us with this little treasure). We even can get her a wheeled cart (we had one for MacKitty)…..

ONLY problem is I live near San Francisco and I have been unable to arrange transportation…… never had luck (& I love elderly and/or special needs chihuahuas)……

  4. I rescued a handicapped Little Chihuahua and I can’t imagine my life without her. She has turned out to be the most wonderful little girl in the world. They’re handicapped physically but they’re capable of giving so much. It’s not their fault. This breaks my heart – right at Christmas time. I’m not even going to respond about the previous owner because it would probably be censored. But what I’m thinking…..

  5. I don’t care what the reason was, or what excuse this lousy owner had, to dump a handicapped dog is pathetic. I hope there is a caring rescue who can take this little one and give the tools to enable her to be mobile – it would be a wonderful gift for this little dog at Christmas time. She deserves to be in a safe loving home with people who love her – Baldwin Park needs to step up and help her.

  6. So glad she was rescued – I would love to have her as my doggy & get her a little wheel chair and carry her everywhere. PS I hope individual who turned dog in has a miserable holiday –

  7. ???? This precious little pup’s previous owners are heartless, despicable and a disgrace. Shame on those soulless monsters! Those monsters probably did this little pup a good deed because those previous owners were NOT caring, loving, compassionate people, so now this pup will be with owners who will appreciate her, pamper her, give her good care, and give her the happy and wonderful life she deserves. God bless you, sweet little pup. I’m praying that you will be happy, protected, and pampered in a loving, caring forever home. May God bless you with joy in your precious heart. ♥️????????????♥️
