The Fresno Fire Department Tweeted about the dog’s rescue on Monday:

Fresno Fire’s Engine 1 crew rescued a dog that trapped, scared & hypothermic from a canal yesterday at Cedar/McKinley. Dog was taken to vet.

The dog is safe and receiving care, but her true owner is being sought. Though she was wearing a collar, there was no identification, or microchip found.  According to KMPH News, the dog will be transferred from the Cedar Veterinary Clinic to the Central Valley SPCA on Tuesday if nobody comes forward to claim her as their own.
