On Thursday afternoon, staff at the Bonita Animal Shelter in California were met by people who wanted their senior dog to be euthanized. The son of the dog’s 95-year-old owner reportedly told employees, “Just kill it, we aren’t taking it back,” when discussing alternative options with staff.

According to the family, the senior dog, dubbed “Lyric,” is 20 years of age – records at the shelter put her age at 14. Fortunately, there will be no untimely end for this adorable pup – the Frosted Faces Foundation is taking her under its wing.

The rescue group stated:

We encourage a Foster Family to apply to care for Lyric until adoption & show her that she is valued: www.frostedfacesfoundation.org/apply/

Adding:

We need to raise $500 for this future Frosted Face to responsibility execute her rescue and provide her the dental procedure she desperately needs.

  1. Such rotten POS selfish low life scum bags! I wish them nothing but pain and misery in their lives! I hope they go directly to hell when they die,the sooner the better! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FROSTED FACES!!!

  2. That 70 yr old pass kid stole the dog from his 90 yr old parents who love the dog and who need the dog and who want the dog. He lied to them

  3. Senior furbabies are treasures…….. I would give anything to have had more time with my precious little treasured prince MacKitty. I can NOT understand how anyone can abandon a senior treasured family member……. WTF is wrong with people???

I got up early to get his medications ready…… saw the empty space on the sofa, and sadly, realized my routine of measuring 14 medications twice each day and administering them are over……..

So awful seeing the empty space on the sofa where his special egg crate pillow I made him was……..

I am glad this adorable treasure was rescued (& can enjoy her remaining years as a beloved and treasured family member)……

All furbabies deserve to be as loved and treasured as my precious MacKitty………

Breaks my heart to learn of abandoned seniors who are spending their last days in a shelter (afraid and alone AND worst of all, unloved as they die)………

  4. How I LOVE these loving family members that take their elderly relatives dogs and treat them so KINDLY! I imagine the poor old man has no knowledge what so ever what his scum bag relatives did with his dog! I hope what goes around, comes around because they have some heavy duty karma waiting for them!

  5. The son is a POS who deserves a painful, terrifying and lonely death…… exactly what he wanted for his parent’s precious little treasure……

    I would bet that:

    a) his parent died and on deathbed was “assured” that the family furbaby would be “taken care of”…….

    Or

    b) his parent is moving to a senior facility and was “assured” that the family furbaby would be “taken care of”…….

Except, dumping the furbaby at a kill shelter was probably NOT what the parent thought “taken care of” meant………

@ least the POS son took the furbaby to a shelter instead of dumping her in the desert, by a busy freeway, shooting her or poisoning her…….. there are some very cruel individuals in our society, who do NOT value furbabies…….

  6. Wonder if these Cold Hearted AssHoles WENT HOME and put a PILLOW over their 96 year old GRANDPA’S face!!! What the HRLL is wrong with OUE CIVILIZATION !!! OUR ONCE GREAT NATION is going to HELL IN A BASKET!!!!!!

  7. God bless you Frosted Faces for stepping up! What in the world is wrong with these disgusting excuses for owners. How can they be so callous, disloyal, heartless and repulsive. Good luck to this sweet pup and prayers for the future. What nerve that son calling the dog an “IT” and demanded euthanasia. May his life be filled with all the unpleasantness that he is made up of…remember, if this life doesn’t get ya, the next one will. Put your seat belt on, CREEP!

  8. Thank you to Frosted Faces.
And 95 year old owner… he is himself about to meet God and can throw away somebody’s life just like that. It is kind start to develop some healthy fear of God in this age. But again, may be he lost his mind.
    Thank you for saving Lyric.

  9. My Lord! Why do people just walk away from a senior pup, so sad. Wishing the pup a life of care and love for his many days he has on this earth.

  10. What is wrong with this Stupid Family that don’t want this Senior Dog???? Karma will get you. Your the one that should be GONE. Dogs are here for one reason. To give you Happy Trails ahead. You are an Idiot in my mind. You don’t deserve any more Animals, PERIOD!!!!!

  11. Hope someone euthanize the owner! The dog isn’t even dying for crying out loud, what a heartless worthless human!

  12. With the help of karma, this will come back and bite the owners for being callous. I hope that this innocent dog goes to a nice, caring furever home.
