An Ormond Beach, Florida man was sentenced on Wednesday to a year in jail and four years of probation for savagely beating up an 8-pound Cavalier King Charles spaniel and drug charges occurring in May in front of a Palm Springs car dealership. Jason Snead, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of felony animal cruelty, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia as part of a plea deal after he was caught on a surveillance camera in May nearly killing  his girlfriend’s three-year-old dog.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Snead will be given credit for the time served in jail, will be ordered to perform 10-hours of community service every month while on probation, donate $1,000 to Palm Beach Animal Care and Control and turn himself in on Monday to begin his jail sentence.

On May 23, 2017, Snead was caught on surveillance video punching the dog named Elizabeth Taylor. The 200 pound 6’5″ man repeatedly rammed her head into his truck. Originally he claimed the dog had been injured when he had to stop suddenly while driving. The disturbing video, however showed Snead kicking, punching and “aggressively swinging” the dog against the inside of his vehicle. An eyewitness told police officers in Palm Springs he thought the dog looked “lifeless” or that it had been a stuffed toy the way it had been hurled around.

In a search of Snead’s vehicle at the time of his arrest, police discovered 0.5 grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, multiple syringes and a straw with drug residue.

Elizabeth Taylor sustained a fractured skull and was surrendered to the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. She has since recovered and is reported to be doing fine. Authorities have stated they are not willing to return Elizabeth Taylor to her former owner.

  1. They couldn’t help it–they were on drugs. Aren’t you sick of these sewer scum hurting and killing innocents always with the same excuse? Suppose street justice comes up with the same defense?

  2. A real coward. What decent man would beat up an eight pound defenseless dog? Obviously, this worthless low life is far from being a decent person and can not contribute anything good to society. Authorities should have locked him up for good.

  3. What an Asshole!!! He needs to have a bigger sentence!!! This is just TERRIBLE!!! He needs to be in PRISON for a VERY LONG TIME!!!!

  4. DO NOT RETURN THIS BABY!!!! If her owner is too stupid to know a monster from a man….she deserves a smarter owner/guardian. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN HER TO THAT WOMAN!!!!

  5. Wow! Another spineless moron beating up on an 8 lb dog! How about taking on a real dog, a Mastiff, Doberman, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Pitt Bull, a REAL dog and see how brave you are! This sentence is a JOKE as usual!

  6. These little dogs are so precious and sweet-looking. The thought of this ignorant junkie throwing this baby around like a rag doll makes me sick. He should never be allowed to own another animal. If there’s justice, he’ll get eaten by a pit bull–except I don’t want the pit bull to get a belly ache!!!

  7. I hope he over doses!!! Hopefully they will take care of him in jail and he won’t be able to sit down!!!!!!He’s a useless fucken low life….Hope you die!!

  8. Jason Snead proved what a load of horse manure he is – this hulking hunk of maggot shit beats up a tiny dog proves he is a frigging coward who picks on those who cannot defend themselves – this piss poor sentence for what he did is deplorable – hopefully, he will OD in the very near future and we will be rid of this useless sack of garbage. Apparently Ormond Beach needs to get some new judges – this one needs to retire.

  9. 200 pound hulky beast can beat up an 8 pound spaniel. His family must be proud. Sickening to the core. God speed your healing puppy!

  10. I have been following since Elizabeth was beaten. I’m a long time dog lover and owner. If any possibility to adopt this little girl I would like to be considered. Dose any one know how I do this, Thanks for your help.
